Please read what Wombat said. A video signal is in overly simplified terms, a high frequency alternating current and as such is affected by the resistance, capacitance and inductance of the wires. One of the things known to affect signal strength is impedance matching. Impedance is a measure of the resistance capacitance and inductance of a conductor. The KVM switch will alter the impedance in some way. It may or may not be negligible in this case but until it is measured we have no way of telling.

Well, since it only happens with the analog output... nevermind. Do high end monitors typicaly use "built in" cables, or do they just have a connector on the back? I'm kinda surprised that there isn't a market of "videophile" monitor cables, along the lines of the insane "audiophile" audio cable market.

And high-end monitors use BNCGigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
