You don't see horizontal lines about 1 centimetre apart?

Damn, it's so faint, that's what's causing all the fuss?!?! My Quadro2 gives me *much* more trouble (espescially in dual head) and shitty image quality, and no one's complaining.

            Yepp, right!

I got much more trouble with other 'hydravision', 'dual view' or 'nview' cards, too (especially 'nview')...

Nevertheless, the bandings may be slightly disturbing, because they vary in speed, direction and size depending on the actual fps displayed in the 3D window and the desktop position of it...

Faint on your card. Congratulations, you're lucky. Some of us weren't so lucky.

it just differs from card to card.

running a 3d-accelerated app vith v-sync off in a window on my card is almost unbearable. even in fullscreen it is quite noticable if the colors are bright enough, like serious sam. which is why I have too play all my games with v-sync enabled.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

damn ive been noticing something competely different and thinking it was "banding" when i run 3d mark and unreal i get jagged parts of the picture as if the screen is split into 3rds and each 3rd is rendered slightly out of time, ive not noticed and "banding" as such though my problem annoys me intensely.
is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?

                      just for the record,

this new drivers have given a huge speed up to the Doom3 leaked alpha.
Now it's running among 5-10 fps compared to 3-7 with the 1.0.3 series.
I guess my CPU is holding the card on this case.

And about the banding issue, I'll just say that I've stopped to play like a sniper on Medal of Honour because of it. The only way I can play for more than 15 minutes is to battle in close combat were I don't have to force my eyes too much just pull the trigger

                      ciao

Well, Doom3 is OpenGL and that is supposedly what they focused on with this release.

didnĀ“t carmarck said that he would only make a parhelia specific codepath if matrox improved their opengl-drivers?

perhaps matrox was listening to him...

5-10 fps is still way too slow though.

Well, I get to meet Carmack at Space Access 2003 next week, so perhaps I'll mention Parhelia support.

Doesn't Matrox allow you to exchange the card for this reason?

So which is the banding? I occasionall get that effect where different chunks of the screen are rendered at wrong times (kind of a weird way to explain it, but it fits) But I had thought that banding was more of a refresh type problem where it looks like there are lines going up and down the screen (kind of the effect of when you have a TV too close to your monitor) Is this right?
