Considerably better than G400 MAX...Dual-DVI, dual overlays, fully-symmetric dual-display, better IQ, faster performance...etc.

I really want to say that the P650 and P750 would be hits for their intended market. However I voted unsure. The reason for that is my feeling that the price premiums are too high with not alot of advantage. My honest feeling is if the P650 was scrapped, the P750 was sold at the P650 price and the Parhelia was sold at the P750 price things would be just perfect.

          I voted unsure.

For now we don't know anything about the performance....

If the performances will be too cut in behalf of parhelia, the price is too high !!!

I think is resonable, replacing my G400MAX, to spend my bucks in a GPU at least 400% faster....

            I voted unsure also.

I agree with Zanna, let's wait for some reviews. I need to play some games with this thing. I know which card is form me... Parhelia, but without the banding (or shimmering or whatever the hell it's doing) in 3-D, and $75 less.

Man, I want to replace my G400 soooooo bad, but I am "unsure" if these will be the cards. BBA 9500PRO's at $310 Canadian. I guess I'll wait and see.

I voted unsure. I feel both should be priced lower. Please bear in mind that here in the UK we have to pay Vat and p&p on these so the price of the P750 goes to over £200. I would love to buy either of these 2 to replace my ti4200 and although I am willing to accept a drop in 3d speed, I cant accept the massive drop that I am sure these will give.

Unsure, only because reviews are not yet there. I think the two cards are at least in the right direction. No triple head for P650 means they heard our voices. If they maintain the top 2D quality and give some acceptable 3D support, the cards will be definately a hit.

I believe 3 Head mode feature is not useful to regular use. But I do not like the design that Matrox does not provide 2.5 Head modes on P650, which Matrox considers it as 3 Head mode:

                  2 DVI/D-sub + 1 TV-out(Clone/DVDMax mode only)

For the price range reasons, I feel it is better that P650 support this mode to get its price list value...

In addition, I do not believe it will increase any cost to the board level design to support this configuration since the TV encoder is built in the chipset. I could not think out any reason why this function cannot work physically if the P650 has already passed the QA verfication of the other 2 Head modes.

For the P750, it is even more funny. No matter how great the features the P750 has, who can see the major 3D Graphics adapter only contains 64MB memory with the price of > $200 ?

With my personal feeling, this kind of price definition of P650 and P750 is just to protect the Parhelia-512 instead of facing the Market competition and the worth evaluation.

I'm sorry, but the Millenium P-750 isn't worth the price at all. Because of low demand, the Parhelia 128MB can simply be found at $400 Canadian (http://www.atic.ca/videocar.htm), just around 50 bucks more then the 64MB P-750. Unless the P-750 is a flawless core unlike the Parhelia that has banding issues, I don't see why anyone would consider getting the P-750 instead of the Parhelia. On the other hand, the P-650 might be the best solution. Selling (pre-order) for just $257.00, if its clocked exactly the same as the P-750, it'll definately be a good buy. Matrox had been known for quality graphics, and even though I have a Radeon 8500 (Radeon 8500LE flashed) 128MB card right now, I'd seriously consider picking up one for my main rig and proudly take the performance hit.

Getting out of topic, I see several pics posted with the P-750 PCB show visible tracks of more memory on the back of the card. Does this mean we'd see 128MB P-series boards soon?

edit: Since G-1000 isn't the right name for Parhelia, I changed it.

Wow! I didn't know the G1000 was released in Canada! A world exclusive, if I'm not mistaken.

                        G1000?
When did they sneak that one in?
                        World exclusive indeed.

Hmm yes, I would trust buying products from a company that doesn't even know the correct title...

That said, you are of course supposing the problems with the <strike>G-1000</strike> Parhelia aren't fixed on the new card. How about waiting for some reviews of the card first.

Possibly a hit with the target market.

I dont play games, (at least not what most people count as games) on my computer.

I want a near silent pc so video cards have to be free of fans.

My 2 Sony F520 monitors cost considerably more than the computer that they are attached to and I would like a card to run them with sharp and accurate colour at fast refresh rates.

If the 2d quality is very good I will buy a P650.
My only concern is if they have sacrificed image quality. This is often ignored in reviews and I will probably have to buy the cards on reputation.

If Matrox ignore gaming and concentrate on image quality I will be happy as long as they stay in business.

depends on how much weight the matrox brand name holds, i think those currently running G450/550 will be tempted but is it really worth the upgrade if you have something that works already?it is a tad on the expensive side when you consider you could probably get ATi dual output for around $50 oem, its all hinging on how much the matrox name is valued by big business.
