i have considered getting a Wildcat VP (any one) and an Nvidi Quadro, and an ATI fireGL card... at then end i came to the realisation that for my kind of work (in AVID) my only choice is Matrox.... especialy for 2d and DH.... now avid has a new version,,, Avid Express pro and they are recomending a DP system with an NV quadro card... but i am willing to bet that it will work just as well on a P4 and P4s with HT... and i am more than sure that P will do more than an adequet job for AVID and its 3d DVEs....... and if i get Mojo jojo for AVID XP and a P-750 i get three monitors plus a TV out .... now that should be intresting to see ... three 21inch Viewsonic HD LCDs side by side and one 46 inch TV right behind me going in the way of 4point suround editing...

For those looking for a way to compare performance/features between G-Series, P-Series, Parhelia:

Great that FAA remained...old games will look better...

Soupy, but I have a question about P650 & tv - I've previously stated that it would be great if crawling under the desk wouldn't be needed to watch something on tv (even although using at the same time second monitor and tv wouldn't be possible).
I guess it's needed afterall? It's impossible to have tv still conected, even though not using it (and while using it, the 2nd monitor goes blank for example)?

i'm afraid i can't answer that with full confidence, though i'm sure haig could answer without a second thought. sorry.

Unless you make yourself some kind of switch box, you'll have to crawl under the table

Also note that the 650 is a DH card only. There's no TH available. The only option 650 user have is to get a tv out cable in which case, will be the 2nd output.

I always thought that the G550 had active cooling, and that it was slower than the G450 in 3d.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

so performance is 50% of parhelia, should be a decent upgrade for those with G400's who play the occasional game and faa will make things look nicer at lower resolutions too.

                    I'd guessestimate clock speeds arround ~170-175MHz for P650 and ~190MHz for P750.

                    What are G400/MAX/G450/550 clock speeds?

                    G400 125/167
                    MAX 166/175?
                    G450 125/167?
                    G550 150/167?

                    Regarding 3D Mark scores:
My guesestimates (from extrapolated percentages) are:
                    G450 680
                    G550 1070
                    P650 3350
                    P750 3925 117% of P650/ 52% of Parhelia
                    Parhelia 7500

They should yield a bit lower than GF2/4MX performance in newer games and 2MX to GF2 performance in older titles (DX7).

                    Pure guessestimates.

Compare to Parhelia's 3D Mark 2001 scores at tom's (It's Tom, but just look at the charts.)

                        @Haig or Soupy:
Is there a possibility of running TV Only like on the G400? (Even if not officially supported...)
