"No. It's performance is not good enough for my needs."
I rarely play games, but still i wanted the power to do so when i want to. So i got myself a passive cooled Radeon 9600. If it wasn't for DVI i would've stayed with my g400 witch delievered a very sharp picture with my 20" (1600x1200) TFT.
And if i still had a CRT i would've probably got a P650 (or stayed with my g400), because the VGA IQ of the Connect 3D 9600 is just crap (i tried it), but with DVI the P650 doesn't offer any additional value over the Radeon 9600 (at lease none that i know of). Sure Dual-DVI is a killer feature, but i don't see myself going that route for a while.
Anyway, P650 is a nice card for a fair price, and i'm sure it will find lots of customers in its targeted audience.no matrox, no matroxusers.

No. Because I already have a Parhelia which does everything I want/needDM says: Crunch with Matrox Users@ClimatePrediction.net

Idealy I would have liked a hybrid 9700pro/ g400max For the parhelia. Buy it did not happen. We ended up with Half a Geforce4 with the quality of a G400. So since the parhelia is not going to run games very well I would rather save the money and get a p750 and later a 'Loci' for my game system.
Yes. I have an older Matrox card and this is the perfect upgrade.
and
Yes. I want TripleHead support with the P750.

No, I already have one Parhelia 256m.
One LCD out for playing C&C Generals and one TV out for playing cartoon video for my children at the same moment. It is excellent.ASUS A7M266-D, 2 x Athlon MP 2000+, Viking 1G PC2100 ECC Reg, LSI MegaRAID Elite 1600 SCSI RAID, 4 x Seagate Cheetah 15k 18.4G HDs RAID 0, Barracuda 7 ATA 200G HD, Matrox Parhelia 256M, Antec True Power 550W power supply, Swiftech & Zalman watercooling & Cooler Master ATC-410 SX-1 Aluminum Server Case

With just a little more 3D power, and a lower price, I'd very seriously consider buying one.

Neither P-series or Parhelia reach the performance I expect for a board at those price levels for my workstation/gaming rig, and I intend to use a graphics card for about 3 years, which is as long as I've used the G400 in my workstation, and I don't really see Parhelia capable of producing playable framerates during a period as long as the 9500 Pro is that I currently own will have to last.
I could use one for my HTPC, but that would depend on how much better the tv-out of the P-series is than the G400 (which is hard to beat already).Last edited by dZeus; 23 June 2003, 11:36.

No. I already have or will be getting a non-Matrox board.

I picked up an Asus V9520 Video Suite DualDVI today. The 2D quality is obviously worse than G550... but its a pretty good performance boost for casual gaming. (I am starting to use Java3D, 3DSMAX/Maya + Java programming so it suits my purpose)... its also a lot cheaper than a P card also... 145 dolalrs Canadian!
well... my G550 is going into my P2 case for TV out... which will be a sweet upgrade from the G200
Personally, I am hoping for a power card from Matrox to replace my Radeon 8500, but I don't think that will ever happen. (Well... i am planninig an Athlon 64 next summer... hopefully with PCI Express)
