So the 1.5.x driver has MORE OpenGL 1.4 extensions than the 1.6.x driver does? How very very strange. Do you have a list of the extensions required for GL 1.4 compliance? I'm wondering how close the linux driver is.

        Sure. Look at http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/

there's a list. I'm using their little utility to check (Win32), quite nice.

I thought the lastest opengl version was 1.4!
Instead on the site you linked it talks about all opengl extensions including 1.5!
It appears Nvidia OpenGL ICD is already 1.5 extensions ready!
Why Matrox is still blocked to 1.3?
Will next Parhelia drivers be 1.4 or 1.5 ready?

I wasn't having probs before, but these are a little faster on 3dmark.

Will check it out when I get home tonight. I have it set at "application preference" so not sure. But I think I would have noticed in games, maybe not...

FAA-16X works for me here to ok. I even put the last 1.05 official release drivers back on and compared them again.

@Paddy the wak: What have you found now, do they work ok?

                          Let us know.

FAA-16x doesn't seem to be working for me at all ... the games I have tried are ...

Call of Duty ... OGL HUD fix isn't working either
Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy ... OGL HUD fix isn't working either
                            X2
                            Need for Speed - Underground
                            Deadly Dozen - Pacific Theater

When installing these drivers ... what does this mean ? ...

"Select the new Matrox Hardware for which you want to enable independent mode"

If I tick the box for this option it loads the drivers then just as it gets to the end it drops out to a black screen and I have to re-boot from the power switch.
If I don't tick this box then everything loads OK ....
FAA-16 doesn't work which ever option I choose.

Any help would be much appreciated...
                            Thanks,

I didn't have this problem either time I installed them. I do remember the "Independent Mode" question but went right through it. I will reinstall again and see what happens, I'll pay more attention this time! FAA seems to work still.
