    ooo... looks nice.

what kind of cooler/heatsink it has by default?

and thanks for the compliments. after very bad times (in fact 1.5 years I have been wondering in very dark alleys) it is really nice to get some compliments.

I dont know if its manufactured using 0.13 micron tech.
default clocks are 250Mhz core/300mhz memory.
I dont know if there is any occlusion z culling, or crossbar memory controller but i doubt it.
faa is improved but its still not perfect, it still misses some edges on things you would expect it to pick up like tress in UT2003.
From what others who are way more in the know than i have hinted, this is as quick and as 3d advanced as we will be seeing from matrox for quite some time. There will be no dx9 card, and there is none planned, although there is a small rumour about a PCI express variant later on this year - completely unsubstantiated though.
      hope this helps a little.

Are you for shure about fixed FAA? For realizing it a big modify in the architecture would be neccessary.

What did MGA in the last 2 years?
        How about R&D Ressources @MGA?

Many questions...I hope ya have some answers for me.
        Thx

The cooler is the same as on origional P, however the smaller core means that it overlaps by a large amount, i have just replaced it with a copper akasa, will see if i can get any more Mhz from it. An interesting thing to note is that a zalman heatpipe cooler now will completely cover the core with the new design.

For comparison's sake. Original P at 250MHz core/err..whatever the memory runs at X 1.14. Using certified 1.04 drivers.

Well, I know someone at Matrox has to be reading this thread. (Haig?)
Yep and that's all I can do until something of it is mentioned on our site.

Way too late, way too expensive ... way too everything unfortunately Parhelia must've sold really badly if it took Matrox so long to sell all 4x Ps.
                no matrox, no matroxusers.

...and there are still lots of 4xPs in the shelves...

yeah... I do have to wonder how many pixel shader bugs this revision fixes, and how many driver work arounds are no longer nessicary...

I may still pick one up, I do miss FAA. The level of performance that can be achieved by OCing the card puts it in the range of what I currently have. Unfortunatly, it is still not a DX9 level card, and for the price that I would have to pay for it (and by the time it will be available) I might as well get a next-gen card from NVidia or ATI...

Well if M wants to give me a trade in on my 4x Parhelia, I'll buy it. (But we know that won't happen.) If they are still around in a couple of years and do something wonderful, I might buy another new Matrox card. Won't be #17 again though.. I'm gonna wait to see what kind of bugs are still to be ironed out before jumping into the new technology.

Someone want to do a retrospective benchmark of what this thing would have been like at release. This looks like it had the potential to have put them a lot higher up the performance ladder to me.

                          Here is a launch review

I was going to pick up a p750 because I was disappointed with the P's faults but now a P may be back on the list.

                            Hi Guys,

We just updated the ORB, and the projects should soon be ok to publish. We only need to reboot the ORB database and that should happen very soon.

                            Best,

                            Nick / Futuremark

I fixed colors a bit for the front image of the card.
