    According to Design Technica, Matrox's summer release is going to be a new PCI Parhelia with a PCI-X interface, and video-in capabilities...and for only $699us :

        yes... but haig said he wasent refering to a timeframe ... i think there might be something elses there still (hope)... not that this isnt a great thing too ... however thi does solve my need for an expandedviewing area plus TV out for my audio workstation.... hum lets see.... with p8x that would give what 5 displays and 1 tv out.... that should be enugh for me for the next couple of years befor i'ed start wanting duble that .....

          Well, if they do come out with a Marvel, it will have to be just in time for them to stop putting out drivers for it.
          Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

            very confused, is it a PCI-X card or just a 64 bit pci card?

            AFAIK most opteron boards do PCI-X 133/100 mhz, and the other slots are PCI-X 66/100. So would it work in the 133/100 slot?

              Its PCI-X compatible, but will still only run at the 64bit/66MHz speed.

                Odd... The only way I can see that making ANY sense, is that some server boards wouldn't have AGP slots... considering though that most people would want their servers to be headless anyhow... I just put a Millenium 2 in mine....

                  Well, supposedly you won the lottery and got Tyan quad Opteron board and 4 848's - the P256 PCI would be the best choice.
