    Hmmmm...looking for a Linux guy, and another for sub-150nm technologies...and another with video and/or OGL/D3D experience... (video + D3D???)...

Sooooo, when (if) they hire the right person in the next 12 to 18month, add 6 to12 months for project development (they still have the P-II stashed somewhere) and another 3 months for tape out, add 3 more for production, this gives us a new M card in: 2006-2007.

    Ready for Longhorn...

And hopefully that means it'll be a card with an upgraded core of the Parhelia8x... That way at least they'll have all their experience getting the driver working on that core... rather than having to start all over from the beginning. I'll buy it as long as it has good linux support. I've already sworn never to use Longhorn. It's a good thing that WineX (or Cedega or whatever the hell they'll change it to next) is getting better and better.

With Longhorn though, I had heard somewhere, can't recall where, that they were going to change the API from w32 to something else.. which of course would break a LOT of things... of course, maybe I'm thinking of something else, it's too damned early...

      Wah! Wah!

In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

That doesn't mean they won't release the n-th version of the P in the meantime...

Do we know what these fix yet? Or someone else who is using them, any difference that makes it worth switching from the DX9 set?

kind of like the G400 to G550? I don't know how they can survive if they pull of out of the retail market, with economics of scale and all. Matrox really needs to be bought by someone with deep pockets?

With our luck, they'll be bought by Diamond or S3 and then they'll fade away into history...
                P.S. You've been Spanked!

Wow, if there's anything that could make Diamond worse, it would be adding DW to their management ranks.

heh, maybe VIA will buy them, then there'll be little dualhead G550s in every VIA chipset's onboard video

Then it will either be canned, or delayed.
Because they would still have a huge stock of Parhelia/P750/etc to sell before they are willing to release their theoretical "new product"!!

They'd probably rename it P3D or sth...
