I never really thought my name was that difficult until I started doing lots of stuff online about 5 years ago. Since then, I've seen it spelled a lot of different ways. You should see when people try to spell my last name (Briggs). Oh that's fun

The reason I chose those settings to test Q3 is because to me they represent the maximum visual quality I would like to use. I certainly don't play online like that. I usually drop it down to 800x600 and default colors so I can get a really smooth and really fast framerate. It's also a nice way to get reference numbers to compare when the next set of drivers come out. (sometime soon, please!!)

When I originally posted this thread I was kind of hoping people would duplicate my Q3 settings and then we'd have something similiar to compare. I didn't really think people would start posting their framerates for configurations of what they consider playable. Oh well, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men

Aren't you getting such high FPS because of vertex lightning? On my MAX lightmap looks infinitely better than vertex... I would assume it is also slower (though I couldn't notice at 1024x768x32 Try the same bench with lightmap and see if you get a lower FPS (by about 10)
