On my pent 2 -450, i get 38.5 fps at 1024x768 with everything turned on and vsync disabled, that's on a tnt2-ultra card. I won't even post the g400 scores because they are a disappointment.
Hey Mike, do you by chance have WW2 Fighters? If you do, can you tell me what frame rate you get at 1024x768 16 bit color with all options to the max in the FLY NOW mode?
In any case, looks like the Athlon is stronger than the PIII 550...
No I no not-
But I can post 3DMark numbers or Final reality, Any Quake BM's that you'd like
and you can take the %
With this card I begin to see a frame rate at 1280x1024x32- Lower that that, it's pretty smooth
And I can wait for the NV10
I didn't buy a TNT2 Ultra because of the picture quality- Actually I did and sent it back.
If NV10 was going to be TNT2 Ultra only faster, then I was going to give it a "Pass"....Rather, it looks like G-400 On steroids...
I posted my updated scores with lightmap on, but they disappeared.(huh?) Oh well, here they are again.
Demo1=36.5fps
Demo2=36.9fps
Can anyone tell me why I'm beating Athlon's and P-3's? All I have is a Celeron 450a. My G400 OEM single head is at 154/205 with Powerstrip. BTW, I'm using 5.13 drivers. I'm afraid of those other "things".
Well I fell into this benchmarking thing and now I think I must have something wrong. I am only getting about 13fps in q3 with texture detail set to high. When I set it one step down, medium I guess my framerate jumps to 28-29 or so.
This is at 1024x768 with everything set to high or on. I am using the new 5.21 drivers with all the performance items checked (bus mastering, 32 bit z buffer etc). I also used the reg hacks for vsync disabled and force agp2x. The drivers were installed after using the pd uninstaller and manually cleaning out the registry. The only folder under hkey local machine blah blah class, display etc is 0000.
This is on a G400 MAX and the machine is as follows...
Abit BP6, dual celeron 366's @561
256mb ram
sblive value
kingston kne110 pci nic
usr isa v.90 internal
wd 18gb udma 66 drive hpt ch1
fujitsu 8.4gb udma 66 drive on hpt ch2
48x cdrom on ide ch3
hp 7200i writer on ide ch4
The G400MAX is on irq 10 and while nothing else is using that irq, there is still a pci steering item on irq10 in device manager. Do I need to get rid of that, if so, how?
AGP apeture (sp?) size is set to 256 in bios.
Also for what it's worth 3dmarkmax at 1024x768 was 4104 3dmarks and 5325 cpu3dmarks.
I think one of the problems with Matrox's "new" OpenGl and drivers is it's ability to move a lot of high res textures. I have the same problem. My scores are around 14fps with the new drivers using all highest settings. Knocking down the texture resolution to medium makes a HUGE difference. I don't think there's anything you can do until Matrox comes up with something better. (and considering how long it took for this release I wouldn't hold your breath)
O.K. had to try them. I still don't see why everybody has such low scores. I found that I had dynamic lighting and lightflares turned off. Even so, I still got 30.3fps, and 31.5fps with 5.13. With the 5.21 drivers and vsync turned off with Reg hacks, I get 31.3, and 32.2. I don't see any problems with that.
