  • Haig, bus mastering causes openGL probelsm with Quake II, more.

Running NT4/SP6, using quake II in 800x600
I found out that if I turn off busmastering the problems dissapear that I been having, such as quake II lag and graphical distortions. But not without a cost. I lose around 50% performance in FPS, I was getting anywhere from 85fps to 130fps with bus mastering on, now the best I get is 60 if even that so from 50 to 60 instead of 85 to 130. Well least I did the work of finding the cause. Hopefully the matrox people can fix it

Bus mastering and 32 bit zbuffer are the only two things turned off in the matrox settings.

I'm not so sure you can blame Matrox if disabling bus mastering solves the problem.
If your using a SS7 don't forget to look for bus mastering drivers...
