DrFizix, I disabled the sound feature when I ran the benchmarks so it wouldn't degrade performance (as is customary for benchmarking). I assume you did as well. I used a common setup that had been previously posted in the Matrox hardware forum (see below). I then went in and tweaked the settings to match your's. BTW, the demo doesn't launch with this command string on the latest Q3 Test; I had to launch it via the console.

    quake3 +seta r_mode 6 +seta r_fullscreen +seta r_swapinterval 0 +vid_restart +s_initsound 0 +snd_restart +timedemo 1 +demo q3demo001

Yeah I'm a living legend, you bet. 'Masterful coding', take note of that will ya... noone can flip the Q3 options like I do...

Well, that was fun, sorta. Anyway Dude - the main reason for your TGL scores being lower at higher resolutions is prolly because at those you're not CPU limited. Therefore the P3 optimizations do not serve much purpose and may even get in the way because of the overhead of CPU mode switching...

        Scytale-
If I'm not cpu limited at the high resolution levels, then what else could be the bottleneck??? I have the reg G400 and I overclocked it to max speeds and that made no difference. What else could be the limiting factor????

          I saw on another post:

          Hit ~ key
          Type timedemo 1
          run demo
hit ~ key and it will show your stats.

Dude - that would be G400 fill rate and maybe on board memory size... and whatever unintentional limitation Matrox may have coded into TGL, god knows. At high detail AGP1X/2X makes a difference too.

You already have disabled VSync. If you haven't done so already, make sure you use double buffering instead of triple, and select 16bitZ.

Is a G400 32meg AGP card non-max going to be good for my system? I have a K6-2 450 128 megs of sdram, and my motherboard is an FIC PA-2013 rev 2.0. My current graphics card is an Viper 550 AGP 16 meg. Will the g400 give me better gaming performance? and has matrox improved its opengl performance problems it had? Also any word if the turbo gl drivers will be optimized for k6-X processors as well? Jediphoenix
