    >With the latest W2K drivers I do not get
    >the error any more (with beta '4' - you
    >know what I mean ),

With the previous beta, you mean ? ;p)

    >but bumpmapping will just not be enabled
    >until I restart Kyodai.

    Err...

    >I removed beta 5 because it didn't work for
    >me and caused an error loop (had to kill
    >the process).

    Well, seems like W2k is not ready yet... ^_^;

    >I might try it again later and send you the
    >exact error information.

Well, received this from another user who has W2k :
"Upgraded to the latest release of the drivers and now bumpmapping is
    enabled.
But when i select it i get an error message. Attaching it to this e-mail."
(This is an access violation... Hmm @_@)

Told this to my fave Matrox tech.
I don't know what to think yet.

BTW, nice to be Game of the Week at Matrox

As for the next beta, it will hopefully feature Fullscreen for the first time (managed to find out what was going wrong...), as well as a much faster resizing process. (I was reloading all the textures before, but apparently it wasn't needed )

Can I say this? Ahh why not!
This is the only game that I have that uses EVBM and works as advertised ! With that I must say Great job! My 8 year old daughter and myself have had some fun with this one ! Thanks and Welcome to the best board on the Net !

Yeah, nice game of the week, Naoki San
Congratulations, the attention is well deserved.

I tried 11b5 (yeah five) again, and the error I get on W2K when launching Kyodai is the French flavor of an access violation at address 4c9675 in module kyodai.exe, while reading from address 1f7ffff.

Just tried the new Beta 5! EMBM looks very nice, and I like the source lighting and shadows to really bring out the detail in the textures

            Scytale-
I was getting the same error. My French is a little rusty and I was on my way to a keg party....so I didn't muck around trying to fix it. Did you find a way to get it running?

DarkSyd - Only without bumpmapping I can get it running on W2K. With bumpmapping enabled I always get the looping error. I tried W98 today, and it worked a lot better, however I still got errors when changing settings on the fly.

You may want to try using beta 3 instead. It works fairly well for me with W2K.

Yeah I'm getting that error in French to. It happened when I didn't make any moves for a few minutes. Earlier when I played a round it was fine...Hmmm

This graphics are absolutely beautiful, and the bump mapping is amazing. Keep up the good work!

Now, I just have to get to bed before 3am tonight and stop playing this

Yeah, i got the same french access violation too in W2K. I also noticed that when installing the game, there was a language menu with no options in it , so maybe that's why it picked french. I couldn't get it to
work at all in W2K (downloaded beta 5).
Think i'll just wait til Naoki releases

Hi there, I'm in a hurry so I won't answer everything.
Concerning W2K, there should NOT be any problem. If anyone has a problem, please contact me in private. I was supposed to get a free copy of W2K from a Microsoft tech, but he never wrote back.

Oh, BTW. My Delphi 3 was in English, but my Delphi 4 is in French, and I don't know how to change the default settings for language. That's why the error dialogs are in French. I'd love to know how to switch them back to English...

I've got the same as Maniac with kyodai. When i start the game it works in 2d, when i select environment mapping the picture is corrupt. And bumpmapping isn't selectable. I can only edit it in de Kyodai.ini. And when edited, the picture is corrupted also.
What can i do about it?

I already e-mailed you about it, but Beta 6 still won't do bump-mapping for me under Windows 2000. Beta 5 had seriously currupted tile textures for me, so this is an improvement, though it still doesn't work as intended.

The same goes for me. And i'm using 98se. The bumpmapping feature isn't even highlighted, so i cant select it. I changed bumpmapping=0 to 1 in kyodai.ini, but still no bumpmapping. But the environment mapping works now. I'm gonna try older drivers now. The latest drivers had some strange effect when quitting kyodai and kingpin. The screen was corrupted and divided in two halves. Really strange.
