    Ok,

I added Command and took out Hydro. I don't see Conquest on the map list.

In the "C" category, I only have Coret, Cybrosis, and Command.

Is this aprt of the retail package or is this one of these mape where I have to add it in manually?

Hi Sanjuro, We will try to keep the teams at 5x5, 6x6 or however many you can get together. How about 3-4 games that way and then let everyone play. It will be hard to hold this bunch back but we'll try our best for awhile.

Ok [MU] can you keep the team at however many [UBF] can field for the first 3-4 games

Then at some point we'll all join in and have a blast.

Maybe a strange question... but do I need to download those maps as well?? I still have the UT update sitting in my UT directory, but haven't updated the maps yet...

I don't know if these maps were on the retail cd or part of the update. In any case, our server does have the update.

Youc an open UT, click on start practice session and see in the drop down box if you allready have these maps. If not, you have to update.

Don't know how this first game ended, because I was thrown off the server and off internet and off my PC in fact with all kinds of strange wirely lines and up&down black lines just before the main match started, but, this image wasn't right for a starters game

We lost, but we had a real good time doing it! GG ALL. Afterwards, a bunch of us played a couple for the fun of it, and started brushing up on the teamwork and strategy side. You guys are the most fun to play with of anybody I've had the pleasure in the past.

              Cya another night/match, I hope!

I'd play, but after a few messages on where to find the cheats from our {MU} guys bothered me a bit, can you tell me where to find these so the playing field is a little more level?

Yeah I know. I don't know why ppl feel they have to cheat. Because as the old saying goes ultimately you're only cheating yourself. Ppl will get to the point they will not want to play with a cheater around.

As an example: I noticed, while spectating Friday night in one of the games, there was a shootout that was a 1 to 4 matchup. At one point the 4 guys had this 1 guy backed up to a wall and while the 4 guys were unleashing everything they had on him he just stood there. Then when he did start shooting the other 4 guys went down almost at the same time. I just can't believe that skill had anything to do with that.

So guys PLEASE lets keep this fun, don't cheat. If you have to, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! And I am speeking to the MURC guys as well as anyone else that may come to the Matrox server.

I've got some screen shots of Ace's Hammer Jump lesson. If anyone can tell me how to post them, I will.
Greebe: Are you sure people were talking about "cheats"? I wasn't there Friday night, so I can't say, but I've never noticed anyone "cheating" on the Matrox Server. There are indeed "techniques" (such as hammer jumping) and "secrets" on many of the maps, but that's part of the game and anyone can find them -- there's even websites that give a rundown on where most of them are.

I agree...there was something very weird going on on Friday night. I don't think I killed anyone the entire 20 min. I played, and this was after what I would normally consider good shots. I had to go check myself on another server, where I did fine. The UBF folks seemed like more "normal" play, and several of them are great players.

                        Hi [MU],
Thank you very much for the game, we really enjoyed playing with you guys. We had a lot of fun. About the cheating thing, I hope you don't mean us coz we don't know HOW to cheat in the game. If you mean a game you guys played on Friday, how is it possible to cheat? Isn't God mode, etc... disabled? Anyways, too bad we don't have enough players playing yesterday, at least 3 ppl didn't show up. I noticed you guys try to make a fair game during the whole match, I really thank you for that. We look forward for another game with you guys, thanks again...

I honestly hope you guys aren't trying to imply that any members of fOo were cheating! First of all they are no multiplayer cheats in UT unless the Server Admin specifically enables it. One thing that really makes me angry is people who are beaten and then throw out the cheat word. If you think we were somehow cheating I am more than happy to schedule a sanctioned match 5 vs 5. We didn't get into the top10 on the ogl by cheating.

I've noticed that this happens occasionally in UT, but I don't think it's because anyone is cheating. Occasionally, for some reason (beyond the players' control), you can kill someone with a much shorter burst of the minigun (or fewer rockets, etc.) than you would normally need. I've had this occur to me in the middle of a match, and just as quickly the effect can go away. Maybe the server "thinks" that the hits are all in the head region of the targets due to some glitch? (Head shots with any weapon do more damage, some instant death..)

Anyhow, as far as cheats go, I'd have to agree with Sanjuro- as far as I know, cheats have to be enabled at the server side, which is something I'm sure that Haig won't allow.

If anyone wants to get with me to learn some more tricks/secret areas (for invisibility/damage amp/armor/shield belt, etc.) on the different maps, let me know. I don't have the UT Walkthrough (or Guide, whatever it's called), so my knowledge is by no means complete, but we can swap what we have learned, and maybe all benefit from it.

Oops. Sorry. I'm definitely not accusing anyone of cheating, as I'm not sure it's possible. I'm just agreeing with a post earlier in the thread that on Friday, for whatever reason, it seemed nearly impossible for me to kill anyone with good shots, and that most MUs were really going down. I know I'm not that good, but how many clean rocket shots should it take to kill someone?

Sanjuro - In my post I stated the Saturday game against UBF was what I would consider normal play against some very good (you included) players, so it was pretty fun. You're clearly a great player, but also kill-able, so it's quite rewarding when a mediocre player like me can get you when you're carrying our flag.

Hope we can all do it again....

I agree with Ace on this I've seen some strange things, even while we were playin Death Match. But there are no cheat codes enabled on our server. So it can't be done.
Nuf said on that topic. My apologies to fOo and [UBF] you guys are just plain "DAMN GOOD" and know how to play together.

The one thing I noticed was that not all you guys[MU] pickup armor and health vials. It is very hard to kill someone who has 200 health points and is maxed out on armor. I watched both fOo and the [UBF] guys max out on both. So, that would make them invincible to anyone who was under 100 health points and had no armor.

And back to what Ace said... We need practice and to all find positions that we are best at (offense or defense) and stick to those positions during the games.

Peace Guys, let's keep this fun, OK
