Use the uninstaller and try PD5.30 ... could help you to get TGL working ...

have a look into your registry (run regedit)

        and goto

        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display ...

In there should be only one entry labeled '0000' (four zeroes), if you have more than one entry (0001, 0002 etc.), boot into safe mode, enter your hardware manager, delete all graphic card entries, enter you registry and delete all those display entries, reboot and when prompted point to the location where PD is extracted to.

Ok, what you're overlooking is that for the build of drivers you're using (5.50), the regular ICD is FASTER than the TurboGL. Sooo.... don't bother.

I get exactly the same problem as Lag. I've got:

                K6-III/450
                64Mb RAM
                G400 16Mb OEM
                SbPCI 128
                Fairly recent Windows install.

All I get with any supported game is a white, flickery screen. The game is still running - I can use the menu, and I can hear the sound - but there are no graphics.

                Happens with PD 5.30, 5.41, 5.50 beta.

                    Problem is:

                    uninstall Powerdesk
                    reinstall AGP miniport
                    reinstall 5.3x or above.

will probably work, I got shit getting TGL with my Athlon too.

Is 5.50Beta really faster than TurboGL?
Does anyone know how well direct3d works for opengl?

i have the exact problem with D3D as you have Lag.

The purplish boxes at the top when you run it the second time, eh? Yeah, i hate those. OpenGL is better with half life.

AND READ MY LIPS: 5.50 HAS A NEW OPENGL ICD THAT IS FASTER THAN TURBOGL. Just reboot when you decide to stop playing; i have the error as well but it dont bother me. Rebooting takes only seconds anyway.

D3D with half life is faster than 5.30 5.41 openGl (which ran soooo slow for me, it was like someone had dumped a P166 into my mobo while i wasnt looking). TurboGL rocked my nuts however in 5.30 and worked like a beauty; but like the readme says IT MAY NOT WORK ON ALL PLATFORMS especially Athlons which have a history of incompatability with G400's. 5.5 is kewl; use it, i dont mind the one glitch with HL. D3D with 5.5 kicks ass aswell; try UT after installing those drivers and prepare to be pleasantly surprised.

For more info of my pd5.5 testing see the "Powerdesk" forum.

There was some mention of the PIII TGL getting loaded on K7 machines. I deleted it before I put it in my system. Its called mgaP3something.dll, while the K7 is mgak7something.dll. You can find them fairly easily, even with that technical description.
You have to find them before you let TurboGL manager install them, cause it will rename to OpenGL32.dll, and you wont know which 1 you got. When you extract the files, find the K7 one and copy it to your game directory, and rename it OpenGL32.dll. This was with the 5.30, I am running the 5.50 now, no problems, Q3A is the only game I have, and silly me, I am running TGL, never considering the ICD would BE FASTER?? Oh well, just lop the.dll off of the driver in Q3A, and it goes back to plain ol' OGL. I will give it a try and see what difference I see.
