Well, I played Q3, but I hate deathmatch...
Originaly I played TF for 2 years, but when I looked at it ... hm... I can't play it on my 19'!
Anyways, my brother suggested I play CS, because TFC is much different from TF.
Ok, I like it.
The only problem is that you have to play clan vs. clan, otherwise it's a mess...

Yes, they added smoke grenades and I think they are awesome! Some people will complain that they 'lag the server', or 'lag something', but I play on a cable modem and never had a single problem. They really look like smoke grenades and definitely the latest build of CS is worth a download. they have fixed all known cheats up to 6.6. I only know of some very minor cheats in the latest, none of which matter. Do smoke grenades work? Imagine this(this really happened):

I am walking down an alley style setting, and I start getting shot at from someone on stairs off in the distance. He is about 4-5 steps up this 30 step stairway. I throw a smoke grenade in his direction and wait 2 seconds for the smoke to start spreading around. I then run into the smoke and behind him where the beginning of the stairs start. He is still looking for me where he first starterd firing at me. I now unload my MP5 right into the back of his head where he drops to his death You could almost feel him twitch in his chair as I scared the crap out of him Hope this helps bring you back.

ya it did ..... down loading , now i know what i will be doing on my short nights (the nights where i have less than 3 hours of free time so loging into eq would only anyo me (as im at the stage where getting a party is easy but you wnat to stay in fop at least 6 hours so tues wed and friday will be counter strike days. monday thursday and weekends will be eqdays!

will be downloading the latest beta of cs today when i get off work. and i have dsl and a k7650 256meg mem should rock like it always has.....

thanks for the info.... there are so many things you can do with smoke grenades exspecialy if your team gets orginazed...

When they say the smoke grenades lag, they just mean it slows their comp. down, I get a FPS drop, but never go below 30, I max my FPS at 40 anyway and it usually stays there, I heard somewhere this reduces packet loss, not sure how but anyway.

Counterstrike rocks, its the only game I play, just bought a new isdn asuscom card in the search for a better ping.

i'm just wondering how you people determine the fps while playing the game...?? is there any special program for it?

To show fps, hit the tilde(~) key and then type cl_showfps 1

if anyone here is haveing problems with cs looking up randomly in 5min or after 4 hours.... where the video freezes and a sound repets over and over..... (this applys to a sblive sound card....) i think i may have a fix..

in dxdiag under sound knock the sound accelaration back one notch to standard acceleration..... this fixed a number of lockup issues with this and other games i have. (everquest)

oh i played last night, i like the new net code things are more even these days (im on dsl) and the smoke g's rule!!!!! i was playing a t on a de nuke map (the warehouse) toosed a smoke over the boxes out side fired a few rounds and then toosed a flash bang (charged though and killed four blind ct's)

i got cs runing smooth now in open gl.....

but i wiped my cutom setups , can someone post there opengl.cfg

im looking for a mix of speed and beauty.....im sure one of you mainiacs will have a setup youlike for the g400.

it is an autoexec you place in your cstrike folder and runs everytime a new level is loaded.

The smoke gernade does not add lag because it is done on the client side.

I am using win2k and found using D3D is much faster. Comments in:
