I'm hooked on this game. Right now, I have a tough decision to make. Shall I keep my well-developing ape, or trade him for the zebra?
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

My first mistake was picking the cow. Amusing but so absurdly stupid...

The ape learns better and quicker.

Go ahead and trade - you can always trade back if you unlock the ape through one of the silver scroll subquests.

Aye, that Ape certainly picks things up quick - even if he does tend to put them in his mouth!
There shouldn't be a worry trading creatures, rememebr all you loose is some size, according to the manual trading creatures results in everything already being learnt being transfered.

Found some fun(?) things in the registry when searching for "Lionhead", play around some in the following keys, don't edit anything, that may not be the best thing to do

              HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lionhead Studios Ltd\Black & White

Am i the only one seing some stuff in keys like Author, Comments and things like that?

Works great on my Athlon 700/win98se/G400 system.

The question is: Why would you want to install and play it?

That has got to be the suckiest game that has ever sucked!

                Graphics are sucky as well.

I played it for about 30 min and then nuked it.

Well, call me crazy but I like the game. It offers a very unique style of play.

Games are like music & religion, they both have mass appeal, but what one likes or dislikes can vary wildly from one person to another. Check out some of the posts here...

To the person slagging off B&W:

We are talking about the same game here right?
Black & White by Lionhead Studio's?
The 'god' game where you have a creature that you train?

I can only assume we aren't talking about the same game.
                    Graphics sucky??
What video card are you running the game on?

Yes, we're talking about the same lame game.

                      I'm running it on a G400.

I probably shouldn't say the "Graphics" suck. It's more the "Art" that sucks. I love people with square hands and feet.

The really annoying part of the game (other than the premise itself) was that I couldn't find a way to invert my mouse.

I'm at work so I can't check, but I'm 99% sure there's an 'invert mouse' option in the settings.

                        Anyone verify?

Yeah, people will tend to have square hands and feet when you're animating a few hundred of them, all doing their own thing. Not to mention the avatar, weather, gods......

                          It's a friggin' amazing engine.

I'm with Wombat - fish that respond when you poke them, trees that sway - and what about the leash ? My brain hurts just thinking about the detail in this game.

does anyone have any experience of the game just not loading? After the splash screen has loaded and disapeared, another window tries to open, but just disapears and thats the last I hear about the game. This is really frustrating me, any help anyone can offer would be great, I run:
