I know that most people log onto the irc channel when they play. Snake-Eyes and I are always logged in if we are playing and I know that Oboy does the same. It is the best way to play with people you know.

What happens when you try to log on, Kosh?

Yeah, there are some TFC and CS players out there, but I think that the UT gang play more. I also think we have more fun

Now I've just got to hurry up and finish my daughter's swingset (1 A-frame left, should be done today) so that I can start setting up the computers. I'm going to try to have everything ready for the DSL connection ASAP.

I hope the Ameritech guys get their part of the install right the first time, and that my router setup goes smoothly. Everyone cross their fingers for me.

Yep, that's why I decided to spend the extra cash to build this one (one of the metal ones would've cost much less, but wouldn't have lasted long at all, IMHO).

As far as this weekend goes, I think I'm set. I set up two of my three PCs yesterday (mine and my wife's- the daughter's is still waiting on unpacking some things so we have the space), and connected my dsl modem, router, and switch. The strange part is that the modem is showing all green, and the line wasn't supposed to be connected until today (maybe they finished it early, when they came out to upgrade the house's telephone network junction box?). If it's really up, all I need is the configuration info so I can properly set up the router to talk over the dsl (my LAN works already, and since the dsl seems to be ready..)

I usually play nearly every day, so you know I'm all for doing a weekly thing. But it is pretty hard for many of us here to make it that often, since most of us have lots of other stuff going on too. Still, it sounds like fun, if enough people show up each week. We could even try setting a regular time and place, and then wouldn't need to post in here to let everyone know each time we want to get together.

I wonder what ping I will have using my Winmodem That is, if I ever get my WinME back online, as it blew out together with my other modem (I was trying to kill my PC, when lightning struck nearby and maimed my PC )

I suppose that playing at 45,200bps will be a challenge I don't want to try
But you never know, keep a place warm for me!

DSL, huh? Maybe you can start your own server WAIT......scratch that. I don't need to play against you when you have a 0 ping. I have a hard enough time keeping up when I have the BETTER ping!
