I know this is a really old issue but i've been to a LAN session lately where we played some HL mods too. BTW, check out Global Warfare. Anyway, when i ran under OpenGL HL crashed after a few minutes with a soundloop. When i used Dirext X nothing like that happened. This is pretty confusing, since HL is an OpenGL game with a wrapper, isn't it? Therefore i asume that the G400 is to blame.
On a sidenote, it is a fresh Win install (now 4 days old) and other 3D games like Serious Sam are running fine in OpenGL.
