I'll try to make it, but I've been "volunteered" to do a landscaping project for my in-laws today. 5 est would be 2 pst for me -- kinda early....

I am, unfortunatly, having a nasty problem with my SBLive! in UT since I upgraded to WinXP last weekend. My sound is all messed up
I have the SBLive! 5.1 and mine does that occasionally too, but only in UT, and I have to reboot to fix it. I just don't think that Creative has come out with a good XP driver for the Live! cards yet.

          Cool!

I'll try the server in a few minutes and I think I'll take a break till 11 pm (CET) because I just came back from Bremen, where I visited the Beck's brewery and now I have a splitting headache (to much beer and insufficient sleep )!

I think some of you know Beck's beer (there was a Thread about beer lately in the Crystal Ball Forum): http://www.becks.de

Ah Liz where is your nice Avatar?

One thing that has helped my system was to decrease the hardware acceleration on the sound card setting (Advanced Audio Properties/Performance). I have it set at one click past "none". No problems since putting it there. Someone on the forums suggested that to me several months ago...

I have lowered the HW accell for the SB (only one notch so far), and I am still having the problem. Sometimes a reboot gets it sounding right for a game or two, but not always.

My schedule for this weekend has changed. I won't be able to do any gaming till later tonight (6-7 hours from the time of this post).
Hopefully some of you will still go going by then

Hehe, played for a little while, was very fun. Then we made the mistake of going to Crane... and God said "Let there be snipers!"

If you bind a key to open the MapVote thing you can actually change the map in the middle of a game. you just have to have 51% of the people agree to do it. So if you accidentally go into a map that sucks you can change it mid game.

When the first popup screen comes up (about keybinds) you can bind the MapVote to a button by just pressing the button you want to bind it to while that screen is up (very easy). Then if you want to open it during a game just open it up and cast your vote for a different map. If others agree it shall be done.

Go into the advanced (console type preferences) menu and select AUDIO and change the latency from 40 to 60 and you should have no more sound corruption in UT under XP.

                          Solved my problem in XP.

Whew... it's 90 degrees in here, and getting into a involved hammer match just makes it that much worse. My cpu is running at 44c, case at 36c while playing UT. Not too bad considering the room temperature I guess.
