Thanks Kruzin. I see what is meant by the FSAA softness. I hope FAA can be used quite a bit as it looks like the way to go.

One thing I don't seem to recall...

Does Matrox's FAA method work on Alpha textures? As many know, nVidia's Multisampling technique does not work at all on Alpha, as opposed to Supersampling.

With FAA thrown into the mix, I'm inclined to believe that it probably would not work....But can anybody clarify that, one way or another?

I have to admit... I'm not totally convinced.
RtCW-Shots: Look at the structure below and left to the gun.
The FAA16x looks a bit better but jaggies are still there, even at this big resolution.

Looks like the driver still needs some work which of course is not surprising during this early stage.

                        Nice shots, thanks a lot.

Question, though--I was under the impression FAA won't work when an application uses the stencil buffer, as for shadows. Could you post an FAA shot of, say, Q3A with stencil shadows enabled and FAA turned on, please?

Yes, it's a good idea to see Q3A with/without FAA

I think the structure in the bottom of the RTCW pic is an alpha-texture, and not real polygon edges, thus they don´t get faa-threatment.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.
