Unfortunatly Action Half-Life still runs really slow for me
It is basicly unplayable when there are more than 3 players visible on the screen.

        About the UT2003 desktop corruption:
Haven't really tested it yet, but I might do this later!
And right, the screenshot Magog posted in the thread KeiFront mentioned is really good, you just need to add those crazy lines from my screenshot and you basicly have all the mess
        Specs:
        MSI 745 Ultra :: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ :: 1024 MB PC-266 DDR-RAM :: HIS Radeon 9700 (Catalyst 3.1) :: Creative Soundblaster Live! 1024 :: Pioneer DVD-106S :: Western Digital WD800BB :: IBM IC35L040AVVN07

When playing UT2003, map dm-antalus, go to the link gun and walk look towards the tunnel going down to the super shield pack. sometimes the arch at the entrance of the tunnel will dissapear. i don;t know if this is a driver problem, and it was there before too. sometimes the pillars inside the underground area will disappear as well.

            Got another one

Gl Excess v1.2 (OpenGl benchmark) reboots my computer.

            Steps to reproduce:

            Start GL Excess v1.2
            Select Run single benchmark/demo
Only select Scene 2 - Waver (all other options disabled (no sound etc)).
Set screen resolution to 640*480 16 bit fullscreen.
            Run Benchmark

Computer will reboot after a few seconds.

              UT (not 2003) update.

It still crashes when running TriLinear filtering.

Ok i am going to reply to everyone and see if that helps:

                Le_Bob:
Polygon outlining, known issue, see release notes same problem as America's Army, we nailed this one down today so no worries about it anymore.

                TDB:
Missing skybox??? There's not suppose to be one, make sure you have GL Extensions enabled or you will have a skybox, unless you're referring to something else.

Blocky particles in Quake 2, i think Maggi knows how to tweak that one, it's not a driver bug introduced in 1.02 specifically.
For UT mipmaps and Darkstone i need screenshots please, so i am waiting for those.

UT + Anisotropic is been investigated, still no news yet, will keep you updated.

                Leech:
FAA + Serious Sam SE, spent the whole day going back in drivers and couldn't find any major difference between 1.02 and 1.01 drivers. I know there's artifacts on the technology test especially on the reflective cones, but that is it, everything else look sharp, again i need screenshots from each driver to see what you're talking about.

                Uberlord:
See TDB's comments on UT + Aniso, for Gigacolor, as far as i know some games need to have both 2D and 3D gigacolor enabled and others do not, if it's broken only in 1.02 drivers then let me know.

                DGhost:
What do you mean by GUI acceleration, you mean just moving the windows around or are you doing anything specific, please elaborate.

                Murc77:
Yes we did some changes to the FAA as always, but we broke some games doing that like The Thing, America's Army and others, it's all been taken care of now so don't worry about it.

                Yxalatis:
Wow i haven't heard about that screensaver in ages, last i checked there was support for D3D in it, i assume you're having the problem in OpenGL, i won't promiss for any fixes since it's old and outdated and will let you know if i find anything.

                Keifront:
Corrupted desktop with UT2003, this only happens if your desktop resolution is the same as the resolution in the game and you have FAA on, we know about it but the fix for it requires another driver, for now, just choose a 1280x1024 desktop and play the game in 1024x768 or whatever you want, just make sure they're not the same.

Medal of Honor: Do you have Gigacolor enabled, i can't reproduce your problem with default settings, i need to know what you have setup in the game profiles.

GLExcess, interesting but i think we already fixed it, will investigate with the latest build i have.

                Zao:
Seen it, it's not as bad as Battlefield 1942 right?

                103er-Fan:
What is Action Half-Life, is that a mod for Half-Life, need link please, also what settings do you have in game profiles?

                PsyCho:
Beleive it or not, that is a map problem, some maps in UT2003 tend to lose some objects in Surround Gaming or if your fov is changed, Epic knows about it, for now i have no solution yet.

                Hope that answers everyone,

                Regards,

I started a thread in your tech support forums about UT - it's a bit more complicated than just Aniso filtering. I'll stop posting about UT and the beta driver here as I think the latest official also has similar problems.

As to the gigacolour problem, I think the game profile setting has no effect - certainly for OpenGL games.

Gigacolour is deffo broken for NWN.
Set the desktop to gigacolour and regardless of the default or game profile settings for NWN you get a physcadellic screen. This indicates that the game profile setting for gigacolour has no effect. For NWN at least.

                    Well, for the 1.01 drivers....

                    Here

                    And for the 1.02 drivers....

                    Here

P.S. Sorry if they don't come up, it just means that my other problem (stupid DSL modem) is acting up. If I can find somewhere more stable to put these, then please shed some light.

I have similar problems in TFC and FireArms as 103er-Fan stated above. Of cource both are Half-Life mod.

In TFC, game playing goes very choppy when I see several players in sight.

In Firearms, you can see this problem in the red brick house which has a fireplace inside near red base at 'ps_coldwar.bsp' map, even in single lan play mode.

btw, CS and DoD is okay with new beta drivers.

oh and, theres another problem when I start multiplayer game. I think this is same bug in old Gx00 series drivers.

from Powerdesk V. 6.21.003 Release Notes:
                      ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive...6_21_notes.txt

                      - When Using OpenGL in Half-Life Counter Strike, the menus would overlap and you would get corruption on the screen.

                      heres mod links:
                      Firearms Half-Life

I think this is official Action HL site:

Rom thanks for the response and the ut2003 workaround .

                        MOHAA:
I've got the flashing with every game setting and Powerdesk setting that I tried. But here are my settings anyway.

My P settings are 16.8 million colors, FAA-16X always, texture filtering Ansiotropic, VSync is on, HUD is off.

Current Mohaa settings are: Resolution 1024*768, Color depth 32bit, texture detail High, Texture color depth 32bit, Texture filter Triliniar, wall decals on, weather effects on and Texture compression on.

And another one, not so important but here it is anyway. See the attached screenshot In RTCW You can see the game view text (Goals, ...) and graphics (the flags) through the objectives tab .

R0M... specifically when gigacolor is running and EQ is running (through EQW - eqwindows.com - forces it to draw in a window instead of full screen), alpha blending is slow as crud. pulling up the start menu or anything else that uses a fade effect results in the whole computer coming to a crawl for a second or two... i'll check more to see if this is obvious with other D3D apps...

also, if i try to switch uses under XP i get a blue screen... specifically, if i switch back to the title screen and log in as a new user, it bluescreens with an error in Win32k.sys. if i log out i can log in as any user... or if i switch back to the welcome screen i can resume the previous session, i just cannot log in as a different user.

                            Hello R0M,

Action Half-Life is a modification for Half-Life, you can find it here:
                            - http://www.planet-action.net
The latest version is Beta 5.5

I have set the PowerDesk settings to default, but I already tried every setting possibility, the only way to get slightly playable framerates is to turn out FAA and set the texture filtering to default.
You can download the game and start a LAN game, in the screen where you can select the map, you can add bots under Advanced options, I suggest you to do a 12 player game on the map "ahl_bananamans" with 11 bots, the framerate should drop down drasticaly as soon as the bots are visible and some fighting is going on.
                            Specs:

I seem to have exactly the same problem in MOH as KeiFront

execpt when the top half of the screen flickers out of sink with the bottom half so it total unplayable
The underlying fact of the essence of life is if you stand on your head everything becomes upsid edown

I just found a thread at the matrox tech support forum about MOHAA.

CaineTanathos has the same problem and Leo reproduced the problem but only in the training mission.

Altough I'm getting the problem in all other missions.

Better also read this thread http://forum.matrox.com/mgaforum/For...ML/004772.html I suppose this is/was the same problem with a G-series card.
