      ROM,

Hitman 2 quits sometimes back to the desktop without an error. It is exactly the same behaviour as we had with NWN in a eralier driver.

Hey it’s an old thread but have a question or two about Quake 2 and the Parhelia since Quake 4 is not going to work for us.

I have windows XP SP2, 1 Gig of DDR 2 Channel RAM, Prescott 3.0 GHz PC. I just installed Quake 2 and did the 3.20 patch on Quake 2 and I have the latest drivers from Matrox, micro$oft etc. My question is about Quake 2. The game runs fine bit the graphics from the weapons fire such as the basic blaster is just too much and too big and blocky. I did play around with the numbers I saw in this post and still don't have it right and I was just wondering if anyone has this figured out. I couldn't get the frames per second over 60 till I went into the driver "Game and 3D settings" and set "Flip Pages during vertical blanking" to never. Now I get like 600 fps . I do notice if I get into actions scenes the game slows down considerably and I think it is because of the what the weapons fire is being displayed. Any tips or ideas???

            Thanks!

            My current settings are:
            set gl_particle_att_c "0.1"
            set gl_particle_att_b "0.1"
            set gl_particle_att_a "0.1"
            set gl_particle_size "13"
            set gl_particle_max_size "25" // was 37
            set gl_particle_min_size "1"

that should give you a bigger variety of particles and if they still seem too blocky, just lower the max size.

Let me know if that helped for you.
