Funny how you blame it on my harddrive, yet the light never came on.....

Besides, soon I will happily laugh at your 10k SCSI system, I'll have one myself, but with more space :-)

Yup, Mistral is in the Freelancer one as well. Both games are published by Microsoft. Come on Matrox, why do they get to play with the fun stuff?

        I've got some news.

I had immense problems with Dungeon Siege and the 1.03 drivers, disappearing models and all that.

Thus I downgraded to the 1.02 drivers, and now Freelancer works like a champ, no black boxes, no stutter on Cruise Engine.

Is running smoothly at 1152x864x32, FAA-16x, full details.
With 1.03 it was jerky at 800x600x16, no details.

I'm gonna keep the 1.02s until the new ones come out.

Quick question here, reguarding the 102.x drivers. Ever notice on Matrox's ftp site that the dates/version numbers don't make much sense?

For example, 2kxp_102_00_029.exe is dated 10/29/2002, yet 2kxp_102_00_042.exe is dated 10/28/2002.

2kxp_101_02_090.exe is also dated 11/27/2002 which would be the latest driver release of 2002 for the parhelia. I don't think I ever tried that release with anything, nore the 102.00.029. Anyone got any ideas on this?

Ok, I tried to go back to the 102.00.42 drivers and had no luck, but then I saw this over on Matrox's Tech support forum and it works flawlessly now

Well, my first post here actually contained the attached image, supposedly a shot of an advertising poster for the next gen Matrox card. Ant put it up on the front page, and most major hardware sites linked to it (clueless as they are)

Tripod pulled my free webspace were the image was hosted without comment. Was probably generating a few gigs too much traffic

Don't know which driver it is.
I had some stuttering in mission 13 where you go into the sphere to blow the generators up and when there were astroids + a lot of enemys.
The rest was smooth - but the game (story) was to short.

                I'm running a AMD 1.2 GHz Athlon (256MB SD-RAM) + Parhelia 128 Retail.
                Hello!
It's not P problem, it's the bug of the game. The same thing has my friend with Radeon 9700. Just decrease your hardware acceleration by 1 and it will work perfectly!

I'll try that in a minute.
