Sweet! Perhaps you'd like to put up a tutorial on M's forums or here for that? Of course putting up a disclaimer that if you fubar your system, it's not your fault... NFS Underground might be worth playing if I could get it working in Surround.

Chr79 please supply us with a link to your 'patched' version or a tool that can patch our .exe files. (or if that's not possible via mail)

PS: Maybe you can be the one that continues the apptimizer with even more options like patching original exe files so that you can play games in surround.

      - Call of Duty
      - XIII

      - etc.

        Hi wingie,
Call of duty does work in surround ...
Find the config.cfg file in the "Main" folder of COD and edit these four lines to read ...

        seta r_mode "-1"
        seta r_customheight "480"
        seta r_customwidth "1920"
        seta cg_fov "143"

I know the resolution isn't where we would like it to be but it is way way better than playing on one monitor.... don't forget to apply FAA-16x in Powerdesk.

also take a look here ...

Anyone else finished NFSU? Took 3 days of intense playing, sleepless nights and one very sore left thumb,. In fact part of that thumb is showing ischaemic changes

It's not possible to patch original exe files because all games uses a copy protection system like safedisc
That's why all my hack are done from nocd files.
What tools i use to hack exe files ? WDasm 8.93, Interactive DisAssembler, TSearch, MTC ...
I will publish my nfs sg patch Soon (i hope before christmas )

If you like driving games, get a decent wheel, you won't regret it!

Plus, you wont get any sore thumbs.

Do it suffer from "saved off steering column" (also known as the under steering from hell) ?
Some of the NFS games has that problem :-\

Kinda skint now Novdid, I came THIS close to getting the MS force feedback wheel back when I had lots of dosh, on numerous occasions. I'll get one once I get back home next month and start working in General Practice. Only problem is, I probably will be too tired to play much. (Or too inebriated trying to forget the days' work)

Paddy: Thanks for the call of duty fix.

Just saw on the matrox forums how to do almost the same for XIII (I believe from dexmeister) and UT2003 big weapons fix, never knew this had hoped or expected that the apptimizer would this, but it didn't (I always had the big weapons and now I know why).

Chr79: ;-), I know that you have to work with the nocd crack because of the protection, in the good old days that I wasn't married and had plenty of time i've programmed and hacked/patched a lot of games / software / demo's. (I'd like to call it fix a bug that is left in the program, like anoying serials /popups etc).

What I meant by tools is not the tools you use but a tool that has/will be(en) build by you ;-) in which the user just selects a game name and provides the path to the .exe and the tool will enable the surround options. So you won't have to release all kind of different .exe (like the ones for the flightsims) but just combine it into 1 program.

BTW: Keep up the good work, if EA and other software houses are to lazy or use the cheating bladiblabla that someone has to do the job.

                    Regards,
                    Wingie

Get my hacked file for Need for speed underground 1.001 here

And for Need For Speed Underground 1.002 here

(If you have some problems (crashes, freeze...), try the game with a nocd file first to see if problems is due to my hack.)

Please report success or failures here.
                        Thanks.

this is the buggiest program i have had in a long time. i assume it's not as bad for others or you'd be complaining more. must be my box, but i don't know what it is exactly.

                          what problems are others having?

I re-installed it and it works fine now. Except...when I choose "3d setup" from the start directory it gives me an error message. I haven't done the updates yet because they may be the problem.

Is everybody doing the updates? Any troubles from them?
