    Straight to the point...

Xfire lets you find what games your friends are playing and allows you to instantly connect to the server they are playing on.

I would love it if all of us MURCers installed this so it would be easier to find and talk to eachother for gaming. Please consider installing Xfire and adding me as a friend. Add Helevitia and I shall be added.

Gaming articles at Xfire, covering everything you need to know about Gaming.

Looks promising. I've added both of you to my list. I typically have always used ICQ and IRC to find people and that usually works pretty well, but I'll be interested to see if this is better. Just last night, I found Snake-Eyes (used to be a regular at this place) on IRC and he just happened to be playing the new UT demo at the time so we met up and played for a couple hours -- had great fun.

In case you're wondering, I registered under the name of.... Beezer.

Added you as well I see you are playing UT2k4 right now. I'll join you in a minute

It's so easy to find people and play on the same server. They will add voice support soon too.

I run both everytime I turn my computer on.

Just in case you don't know, Thresh from Firingsquad is the person behind this program. AFAIK there is no spyware. Did you notice something different?

Nah, it's just me thinking "what can you expect from a free app from almost unknown source"
Anyway, if anyone's interested my login in this is "zima" (yes, I've installed it nonetheles). Not that I would game anytime soon, just reserving "my" nick for possible future use

edit: and you'd think that now, when windows has skinning build in, every little app would stop its efforts to look different at all cost
                I really hate it...

Just curious. Does it also tell you which server the other person is on? When I tried it, it just told me which game was being played and gave me an option to start the game. I didn't see any info on the specific server, yet you (Helevitia) seemed to find me while I was playing UT2k4.

hmm...I've only used it very little, but I think the problem is, you must double-click the name of the person you are interested in playing with. another screen pops up with all fo the information and a 'join now' button.

The Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England
