  • Raven Shield ... with perfect FOV in TH

    Hi Guys ...
Dave at ToCA EDIT has now created a FOV Tool for Raven Shield... and now it works with the correct ... un-zoomed FOV ... in surround ... so you can enjoy it all over again ........

Download the FOV tool here ... scroll down a bit...

This website is for sale! game-editing.net is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, game-editing.net has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

Set it to about 138 ..... then start up the game ...
I needed a no-cd for it to work ... I'm sure you can find one if you need to.

Edit : The game must be patched to v1.56

    Some screens ....

It's great to know there are still fixes coming out that help surround gaming. Shame Matrox won't give it any real support....

Yeah ... I know what you mean Matrox ... could have done /could do ... so much more.

It was Mikko that drew my attention to Dave at ToCA EDIT saying he had created a Camera Hack tool for Colin McRae Rally 4... I then pointed Dave in the right direction to develop it for Surround Gaming ...
He was busy creating all sorts of great tools for various games ... so I asked him if he could make a few for me to get some games going in Surround .... and as you see he did... and he is happy to share them for all.

      World Racing
      GTA III
      Vice City
      Manhunt
      Raven Shield

Now if there are people out there that can do these things (Dave at ToCA EDIT and chr_79) I'm sure Matrox could of found someone to help them expand the range of games capable of Surround.
Anyway they seem to be dropping gaming ... no DX9 ...but I shall carry on trying to find some more games that work in surround.... even if Matrox don't /won't.
I'm going to eek out as much life from my beloved Parhelia as I can ! ... Unless some other card manufacturer comes up with some TH gaming card....

How nice would that be if ATI would make a X800 XT PE TH.... Ah hell, that would be confusing...

Raven Shield looks sweet though! Was it a no-cd that was needed for adding the resolutions?

        Wah! Wah!

Hi leech ... the resolutions are available out of the box.
The no-cd was needed to get the FOV Hack tool to work.

I'm not sure if Dave can add surround resolutions to games that don't have them but any game that has does but has a bad FOV may be able to be hacked.
If anyone has any suggestions for FOV Hack tools let me know I'll put em to Dave at ToCA EDIT ... or you could put em to him yourself....

            Works with Punkbuster too ...
Over on the Matrox Surround Gaming Forum Manthi wrote ...
Bravo, it works perfectly with Punk Buster. WOOHOO

Been playing for a couple days and still problems.
I think he meant ... and still no problems.

Problem to report. It looks like the Core.DLL file caused me to get kicked from play on PB enabled server. I don't know if this will keep being a problem. It's only happened once so far.

I will keep trying some more.

I'm not sure but that sounds like the no-cd causing you to get kicked not the FOV Tool ... I may be wrong though....

You could try a different no-cd if it continues to be a problem.

                Thanks for the info though....

                    Hello wuqjoe,

You must have the game patched to v1.56.
You must use a no-cd patch.
You must leave the FOV hack running whilst playing the game.... set to about 138.

... if you are doing these things all I can suggest is that you try a different no-cd patch.

If your game isn't starting at all then I would suggest that it is nothing to do with the FOV Hack.

I hope this helps ... let us know how you get on.

                      Hi Paddy,

Do you think you could persuade Dave to make a FOV Hack tools for Max Payne 1 and 2. It shouldn’t be too hard, since they are using similar engine to the GTA and Manhunt.

                        Hi wuqjoe

I used all Daves FOV Tools and i've never need it to install VB5 or 6 to make it work.

                          Hi RUS007,

Dave has had a look at Max Payne 2 ...
...he spent a couple of day's getting quiet a headache over it but he couldn't get any adjustment to the vertical FOV and so it would still look stretched.
What he ended up with wasn't any different to what you can get by following the instructions here ...

I know about that. It’s just these FOV tools work so great and hassle free.

These FOV tools he makes are great aren't they ...

If you find any other games that do Surround Resolutions but not the right FOV let me know I will see if I can persuade Dave to take a look.

At the moment he is looking at the Raven Shield add-on Athena Sword and the Medal of Honor series..... lets hope he has better luck than he had with Max Payne ......
