Yes! Server's finally working again.. and I was only about a third of the way through my 64 unit buffer file

Full speed ahead guys! and start a buffer for next time this happens.. I use the FIFO inventory method for cycling the units through, so I will always have enough for prolonged outages..

          Kind Regards,

            YOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOO!!!!!

Alpha Centauri leads the Yahood.de Domain!!!

            Anyway, KvHagedorn:
I hope you are able to crunch this 64 Units in 7 days, because the SETI People sends them to other users after 7 days if they don't get it back after...right, 7 days.

            Assim:

Thanks, i wish all of them would be under my administration, but unfortunately only 7 are.

Mega - grats on the #1 position

Are you sure about the 7 days part, it seems very quick, many people does not run SETI 24/7 and if you combine that with a slow PC a WU can easily last more than a week.

              ------------------
              P3 500, 224 MB ram, G400 16SH, SB Live Value
              Maxtor DM 40+ 30GB, IBM Deskstar 16GP 10GB, Maxtor 4320 13 GB
8 hours avg on the last 30+ SETI WUs

If you don't get a result back from one PC how long does the server wait until sending the same data out again?
It varies. Our goal is a week.

[edit] the above IS from their FAQ ,the link for it is below [edit]

Doh! I thought it was 14 days.
Still all WU's are processed at least twice anyway ,sometimes 3 times. To confirm results

Damn, i wrote a long reply and it crashed twice:O

                  So now the short version:

I read elsewere that You only have 7 days to calculate you WU. I searched their FAQ but there only stands something like "if you don't send it back in time we will give the WU to another Member".
I E-Mailed them because that and wait for reply now.

KvHagedorn, what is this FIFO method you were talking about? Do you have some config files I can have a look at?
