    Consider these three scenarios:

    1) Kosh crunches the forty hour WU, ET is found, his name is posted on SETI's site, and he becomes a celebrity.

    2) Kosh crunches the forty hour WU, ET is found, SETI calls the NSA, and Kosh is kidnapped and spends the remainder of his days in a basement cell below some hanger on an Airforce base in New Mexico.

    3) Kosh crunches the forty hour WU, gets bored because he wants to get the WU finished and avoids using his computer to do so, steps outside for a walk, and gets hit by a bus. Because of the accident, the WU is never uploaded from Kosh's computer, SETI sends it to someone at SGI or Intel a week later, and he/she crunches it in fifteen minutes.

I'm just guessing, but I think the least likely scenario is 1.

Stay away from that WU, Kosh. It's bad news!

Hmm, in the past few days, I've had several units that were done in 1min. I wasn't watching SETI run, so I don't know what the cause of it was.
