New team made: Matrox Users (MURC).

Since I'm currently on top, I'm discarding most with the move.

        I'm in.
        Pneumatic is the name!
        Starting all over again!

Windigo, put that link on the website so that people can hit it and join the team. That way they don't have to go looking for the page that it's on. that's kind of a pain in the butt!

Just turned in my first batch!

about 25 hours of CPU time.

It seem to me that the UD-agent consumes vast amounts of resources. The longer it runs, the lower my free system resources (win98SE) goes. In this last batch it vent down to 6%, so I had to reboot the PC. All other programs refused to work, because of the low resources. Anyone know if this is normal?

Also, is it normal that even though I'm not runnig ANY other program, UD sometimes seems to work faster than others. I mean in some of the molecules it would count conformers in the tens and in others in the ten-thousands per second.

Obviously it would finish a molecule much faster in the latter case...

Maybe it's just me and my PC that's FUBAR.

The whole "fast" molecule and "slow" molecule seems to be normal. I had one that shot up to 1.4 Billion conformers pretty wuick (by the 10 thousands) and one that took forever to hit 100 Million.

As for the resources, try one of the RAM defrag programs like MaxMem, or Mem Turbo. They really help me stretch the time between reboots. Here are the links:

Well, the best is to don't run an OS relying on 16-bit-memory-resources.

Hi I have also joined the cause.
Quick question though...I have returned 3 results and gained some points, but they do not show up in the team stats.
                    And yes I have joined

The team-pages is only updated once every day, at 00:00 GMT. You'll show up before, as you've done, but the points isn't updated before this.

LOL That was a good one.

I can understand that if someone is on a distributed computing project it´s hard to abandon it...

But to be honest, this project (maybe because it belongs to my field of expertise) was the first one to get my attention.

If properly done, I believe this project could antecipate new anti-neoplasic drugs for decades. No offence, but IMHO, it could be more usefull than searching for ET´s. To be honest, if I was an ET I wouldn´t like to contact with humans
