    Just a quick note to say that I was actually thinking of making explorer windows, all applications, dialog boxes, menus etcetc semi-transparant. Is this actually possible? I assume that you were giving me WinAPI programming tips, Spire! My programming days are just starting out.

    Thanks for the replies anyway and I will have to put up with either standard or WindowsBlinds - oh well.

    And how did you become a MURCer at 75 posts Spire? Is this a bug?

      Why didn't you say so? Try <A HREF="http://win2k.davet.net/">Transperizer</A>. This program uses the methods I described above to allow the user to set the transparency level of any window under Windows 2000.

      Here's a screen shot of Transperizer in action:

        Thanks guys - I had already used Stardocks programs but it compromised the stability of Windows 2000 too much - I'll be trying Transperizer soon though.
