ou better tell the Turkish and British football fans (except me) to cool down...

one very funny detail about the british hooligans:

When they played in Holland and lost, they did not do much at all afterwards.

When they played in Belgium and won(!) they started riots

Dutch drugs-policy regarding the use of grass and hash probably is paying off, especially in situations like this

Yea - sad to see continued violence - stopping this is a good enough reason to chuck England out.

And did anybody hear about Paolo Maldini's comments to the press? He said that if Italy meet England in the quarters that he'll tell his family to stay in Italy - and that the rest of team-mates are telling their families too.

And if England do draw with Romania then it'll be Italy vs England in the old Heysel stadium. (where, if you don't know, Liverpool clashed with Juventus in disastrous seens). Some sad memories will be brought back there.

Yea - I was also meaning that it's really only English fans that spawn/turn into the hooligans. We Scots, the Welsh and Irish are all well behaved

There are good English fans too (well they are all arrogant ignoramus' but still )

Hmm 2-2 with Romania - and no trouble so far according to the BBC - here's hoping it stays that way (though 3-2 for Romania would be nice )

Well, Germany is out, beaten (at last score I saw) with 3 - 0 by Portugal.

There were Dutch football fans in the crowds trying to provoke the German fans, so don't say it's only English hooligans out there.

One fine report I read on Dutch ceefax: Dutch journalists and camera-teams bribed English supporters in Belgium to drink on their account all day and then send them out to wreak havoc, so they could film that... Jezus, what's the world coming to?

Besides, what have you left to support? Just over the border where you sit, gas-prices will be shooting up now just to harass us Dutch, while in Belgium you can't walk around or be put involuntary set on a plane to Brittain, just because you speak English
