...and it feels GOOD
I'm running Win2k, and loading just the basic things already made it use 70MB RAM, so I really needed the extra RAM to play q3a properly..
in Q3A RocketArena it used to take up to 4 minutes to load one map (with 128MB RAM), now it loads the map in 30 seconds! can I say "WOW!"
Now I am one of the first people on the server on every map-reload, where I used to be last (minutes behind the 2nd last)
Maybe I'll try UnrealTournament with AGP texturing toninght
I did notice that 3DMark still doesn't run the AGP 64MB test.. a driver problem? Aperture size is set to 256MB! does it run on GeFarce cards (in Win2k)?
Oh, and I also downgaded my linux-box to 64MB (so that I could use the 128 that used to be in it in my main machine). Shouldn't be a problem, since it never used more than 64MB RAM effectively anyway
I also don't really notice a increase in performance in Win2k with 256MB RAM... it mostly are the games that benefit from it.... hehe
