  • Something that DOESN'T irk me.

I thought, for a change, that I'd post something that DOESN'T piss me off. Hehe.

Mattress tags. You know how they used to be super-irritating, and promise hefty fines and prison terms for anyone who DARED to remove them?

Well, now they say "except consumer". I know, it's a little teeny thing, right? But it used to really bother a lot of people. And they changed it!

    Cool, huh?

So, I'm starting a trend. Everyone has to post something that is BETTER now.

I'll toss out a couple more...

CD players - the "anti-skip" mechanisms really work nowadays. A few years ago they CLAIMED to work, but they didn't. Now they do.

Lightweight winter coats - all that "thinsulate" stuff used to be pure B.S., and you had to put a sweater on under the coat anyway. My latest coat is so damn warm that I have to strip down to a t-shirt underneath half the time.

    C'mon folks! Post away!

    - Gurm

    ------------------
Listen up, you primitive screwheads! See this? This is my BOOMSTICK! Etc. etc.
The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
    I would still get screwed

Recordable CD's. 5 minutes, about a buck. Cheap, fast storage and data sharing. And if you want to make one a boot disk, no pesky 1.44MB limit.

Beer. Good stuff, and America is finally developing at least some taste buds for it.

High quality monitors at affordable prices!

4 years ago, monitors generally sucked, compared to the actual ones (the same goes for graphics cards).

For those of us who burn 5-8 CDs a day, 12x burners. I can burn CDs with 3 FTP windows, 3 Agent windows (and Agent has a serious memory leak x 3), ICQ, and Winamp running. And it takes 7 mins to cook a 700mb disc. Life is good.

Oh, and another good thing is The Sopranos. Finally a prime time show with nudity, violence, AND the F word.

They just seem to get better all the time.

                        Oh, and fast Internet connections.

Ever increasing Home Theater stuff. Remember getting up to change the channel on the giant console TV? I'm only 31, but I do. Now we have 65 inch big screens, Dolby Digital 5.1, speakers hanging everywhere, sub woofers, DVD, all in our own theater in the house. Technology ROCKS!

IDE RAID arrays! Been reading into these quite a bit lately (as my 40 GB of space is rapidly depleting now that I have high speed Internet). Doubles your hard drive transfer times and you can get a card for under $50! Could imagine 150 GB of high speed storage? I can.
