    cjolley,

If you think the FED sits in a windowless room to set interest rates you are mistaken.
Differences in Administrations policies have a huge effect on the decisions that the FED makes.
Of course they don't sit an a windowless room. Do you know the reasons for raising interest rates by the FED? I do. And the presidency has little control over that. The president cannot do anything (with the exception of crisis situations) to change that, unless the congress passes legislation first.

So, please come and tell me what policies specifically were causing the FED to increase interest rates.

This neverending crap wears me out. People have their own pet peeves, which is basically why they dislike one side or the other. My pet peeve is against whiners who can't take responsibility for any of their own actions, which happen to be liberal Democrats and all the "interest groups" they pander to. They are the most insincere bunch of hypocrites it has ever been my personal displeasure to witness.

I know this from the inside out, because as a kid I was a liberal. Why? because I was brainwashed into believing it was the "thing to be" (and because I liked a certain girl.) But I soon found that I had a distinct distaste for lies, and saw that the Democrats who were getting elected all seemed to do so based upon how great their line of BS was. Watch Clinton the next time he speaks. See that impish grin? He's so good at bulls***ting that he appears to get all pleased with himself when he does it.

What truly got me so utterly disgusted with the Democratic party were the confirmation hearings for Judge Robert Bork to become a member of the Supreme Court. Kennedy and Biden had decided that they were going to abuse their power to get rid of perhaps the greatest legal mind of our century out of simple spite for Ronald Reagan (or more likely because they feared Bork's intellect.) It was reminiscent of the McCarthy hearings or even a Nazi kangaroo court (both of which I have seen on film.. all three cases involve someone in power abusing that power to hurl accusations, and because the outcome has already been decided, any attempt by the accused to defend themselves is shouted down or ignored) Because of Edward M. Kennedy and Joseph Biden, I will forever remember what true abuse of power really is. I witnessed it as it happened.

On the other hand, while Democrats who get elected seem to set off my BS detectors, look at the Republicans who have gotten elected. They are not as polished as a Clinton or Kennedy, but they have a certain air of sincerity I find refreshing. I really liked George Sr. for his thinly veiled dislike of the media, too. He knew how utterly biased most of the media guys were, and got very impatient with them when they showed it. BTW, for those of you Democrats who believe corporate interests own the Republicans, they give money to both sides, but the media moguls (who are predominantly liberal) would not favor a reporter who might dig too hard on this issue with a Democratic administration.

Let's see, what else turns my stomach about these bozos? Arrogant, strident Easterners who tell me I'm stupid because I come from Texas? Hmm, that sure wins me to your side. Accusations without a shred of evidence which meet no opposition because you know the media is on your side? What a bunch of wussies.. they slime and slander people, believing that a wink and a smirk suffice in place of hard evidence. I am sick and tired of these idle accusations of corruption and election fixing people are throwing at George Sr. and Jeb Bush. Prove it or SHUT THE F*** UP!

Well, before this gets out of hand, lets suffice it to say that personally, I think extreme liberalism is a mental illness. I don't think there is really any cure for it.. the only thing that seems to help is if their guy wins and they get their fix of insincere platitudes. What a shame he didn't win this time.. now stop your whining and live with it! We had to put up with your guy for eight years! Geez...

          In spite of all,

          ------------------
          Kind Regards,

            Erk!
What can of worms have I opened.
You've only got to wait x amount of years and then you can kick him out and bring in someone else.
I think everybody should get a go at being president/prime minister, do it on a rota basis and let everyone have their day in charge
It cost one penny to cross, or one hundred gold pieces if you had a billygoat.
Trolls might not be quick thinkers but they don't forget in a hurry, either

Okay. You bring it up, you get to tell me

Tell me what tax he signed into law that was new. Also tell me what bill it was part of why it was signed.

This is a great example of media bias in it's grossest form. Mr Bush kept his promise when he said "Read My Lips...", but the people who say he didn't really can't tell us what it was. So. I need to know. Can anyone tell me what this/these new tax(s) was/were.

You're not realy arguing with me that the Executive branch has no effect on FED policy are you?

I'd rather have Bush with a good backup team than Gore with a bunch of Clinton leftovers. Talk about a bunch of lamers & kooks....
