I just wanna make a quick comment or two:

    cop related:

yes, i think politness helps. althought it hasnt helped me. I do consider myself to be a very polite person when it comes to things like that "yes sir, here is my licence", etc. However, some cops are just ****oles and I think that unfortunately, the ****oles are the ones that make all cops look bad. example:

I was pulled over on a saturday for having expired tags. I have no qualms about it. The tags expired 6 months previously. So the cop(sherrif) asked for license and what not:

cop: "i noticed your tags are expired"

me: "yes sir. I paid part of the fee last week but havent had a chance to finish paying yet"

cop:"i see. can i see your license and registration and proof of insurance?"

me: "sure"...<<fumbles around in glove compartment>>..."i'm sorry, i dont have my insurance on me, and all i have is a copy of the title..."

cop: "ok... <<takes license and title>>..."i'll be right back"

    20 minutes later!

cop: "ok, well, im going to write you up for expired tags. hopefully it will get you to register your car"..."also, try to get the rest of your information so that you can have it on you next time"

    me: "thanks officer"

what a cool guy. no problems. yes, i got pulled over, and rightfully so.

this is where it sucks ass. the followind day.... on a sunday... I get pulled over again. same sherriff department:

    cop: "hello, hows it goin?"

    me: "...for my tags, right"

cop: "yup. can i see your license and registration?"

me: <<looks around>>..."As a matter of fact, I got pulled over yesterday for the exact same thing. I dont have my license on me because I left it with my ticket unfortunatly"

cop: "really... do you have the ticket on you?"

me: "no sir. Its on my desk in my room."

    cop: "where is your room?"

    me: "fontainebleu dorm"

cop: "do you have your registration or insurance?

me: "no, i dont. Im in the process of registering my car, and I havent paid all the fees yet. I dont have my insurance on me at the moment but I do have the copy of the title"

cop: "let me see the title.... I'll be right back"

    15 minutes later....

cop: "im giving you a ticket for having expired tags, no license and no proof of insurance"

me: "but, i just got a ticket yesterday for no tags, sir"

cop: "but you dont have the ticket on you"

I just shutup after that. How lame. each ticket was only 10 bucks, and i coulda fought it and probably won since the second ticket was so stupid, but i figured it woulda taken me 5 bucks worth of gas just to drive to court.

i'm not going to get into the death penalty thing too much. Im pro death penalty. Interestingly, a good friend of mine, is very against it, and he isnt religious whatsoever, yet, I am for it, and I consider myself to be fairly religious.
