  • @£$?!"#¤%& My DTLA has lost a Cluster due to my stupid litle brother!

During the Eurovisian song contest he banged the wall betveen my room and his whenever sweden got a score.
Since my computer desk is on wheels i have it rolled firmly up that particular wall.

    It showed upp today @£$?!"#¤%&/()=!!!!!

It's just one but with my luck it will spread.

Luckily my Raid array seems to be unhurt

The question is what i should do with my brother?

Are you sure the banging is connected with the lost(?) cluster?

I can bang the wall right behind my computer all I want and I only annoy my neighbors.

The Monitor on the top of the table was conectiong to the wall.

The "vibrations" (more like shockwaves ) made the whole table roll back a inch or so.

And ofcourse the computer did a half an inch of travel in 90 degrees ofwards the motion of the table.

It is'nt the end of the world it's just inconvinient as hell!

The worst is the fear for more bad clusters and actual loss of important data

          He's 9 I am 23, go figure

I have this idea of scaring the living daylights out of him if he ever try that again.

Not that it has directly to do with the asumtion that he was responsible for the bad cluster, but I tend to dislike when some one tryes to take the house apart in the middle of the night.

So he's 9 and your 23, eh? Well that opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Since I was a younger brother, my advice would be prejudicial and perhaps favor your brother. There are some older brothers here that would maybe help you out better than I could.

You could move out of home.

              Problem solved.

Although then you might have difficulty buying new hardware

                I am an oldest brother...

I would give him a swirly...

(For those that don't know.. that is where you hold them upside down with their head in the toilet and flush a few times...

Or you could Yak him.. (From days in sea cadets...

You sneak into his room in the middle of the night and grasp his mattress firmly.. then you bellow to wake him up (Like a Yak ) as you quickly swing the mattress up into the wall...

If this is the wall that your computer is on... maybe not such a good idea...

Boy... you learn so much in Cadets and Boy Scouts... Hahaha

If your hard drive is that sensitive then it might be a good idea to replace it anyway. I have dropped hard drives (would not recommend it) from about the height of my desk before and have had no problems. I think you just have a hard drive going bad.

Tape his hands together with duct tape, tie his shoelaces together, and suspend him upside down from a hook. You might need some tape for the mouth too.. If there is a bog of eternal stench in the area, you might be able to suspend him in that

There's a big difference between a powered and unpowered drive though, like 10G's.

But somebody else already said it. RMA and cross-ship, don't take chances.
