      How about Gunman Chronicles ?

I know, it's older than two months, but for one it uses the Half-Life engine and thus runs great even on non-GF2/3 cards and for the other it has a pretty long lasting story line, ie. I've been playing it for weeks and just a few days ago I finished Level 1 ...

      Check it out !
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

I thought everyone's beef with Blue Shift was that it lasted about 8 hours...

I'm nearly thru with Max Payne and am not overly impressed by it. Bullet time is a gimmick that is cool the first few times you use it but can't save the game, IMO. The story line is good, tho.

Other than that, I play mostly Diablo 2 Expanson and TFC these days.

I have played Gunman Chronicles and thought it was pretty average.

I have just found Ground Control + addon. My mate must have lent it to me months ago. Anyone played it?

Another vote for Planescape:Torment. I bought it about 2 months ago. It's great. I haven't beaten it yet (had things IRL come up), but I know I'm going to play through it a second time, possibly a third. (Different classes change the fighting a lot, and I'm thinking about trying to play the game as a Chaotic Evil, instead of a Good guy).

Yeah, Torment can change a lot. There are always AT LEAST two solutions to each problem, and paths that just never open up depending on which class and alignment you choose - it's a lot like Quest For Glory in that regard (QFG 3-5 are the best PC adventures EVER, IMHO).

Torment: Planescape is the best RPG ever produced. You will start thinking and speaking only of it, after having started playing.

Icewind Dale is a magnificent EGO game.

Baldur's Gate 1 is beautiful, Baldur's Gate 2 is soporiferous.

Try Ground Control, if you have never played it.

If you want a small game, just to play a few evenings, try Silver (it's cheap).

Worms World Party is a must (hey, what about a [MU]-WWP tournament?)

If you like space combat game, find Freespace 1 and 2.

And, you cannot continue breathing if you have never played Darkstone.

Go on playing and you will find them.

The biggest difference between Diablo and Darkstone is that Diablo is a lot more an EGO game, while Darkstone tend to be a bit various.

However, if you really want something interesting in the game, download the latest patch from Delphine site and do yourself your character skin

(Also, there are a good number of user created Quest, on the net).

My problem with Icewind Dale was that it was TOO much like a completely free-form AD&D campaign. There was no direction... but at the same time it locked you down to a tiny play area to keep you from straying too much. VERY irritating.

In addition, the engine was poor. In fact, I keep waiting for the Baldur's Gate games to catch up with Torment in engine sophistication, but it hasn't happened yet.

All in all, I think Icewind Dale was a REAL step backwards from Baldur's Gate, that's all.
