Wombat, as for Germany causing WW2 due to some *terrorist* regime I can second you. But on WW1 I guess you'll need some further history lessons to understand the whole complexity of this issue (but then you're so far away and probably have no idea of those complex geographic and historic relations). Blaiming solely the German for WW1 is as wrong as blaming solely the austrian and as blaming solely the serbian people. How old are you (hiding your birthdate)?

My response was meant zynical (is this the right word?) and I guess in the context it should've been clear (everyone SHOULD know that you can't simply do this, not even the USA). And those yountries I mentioned are widely known to quite openheartedly SUPPORT terrorism, so if there WAS something like a world-police (an often claimed thing) they really should "take care" of those.
And I guess you have not seen those reactions from quite a wide part of the palestinean people and other islamic ones, too (maybe they're hiding them in the US to not make people even more angry/hateful). They're annoying me even more than the "incident" itself, how can *anyone* go out on the streets, dance and sing and... because of such an event?
And it's unfortunately a fact that the majority of islamic people (at least the poor ones that can't afford decent education) are more uniform than people in the average western country - kinda like in the communist system where inidviduality is nearly a crime. Men are FORCED TO wear beards, women HAVE TO wear veils (is this the right word? - got it from an translator site) to make them even more uniform. Still all this propaganda should not affect your mind in a way such as to applaude to this kind of crime.

On a side-note: It's kinda annoying / embarrassing / laughable (however you want to take it) that in the actual german government the Secretary of State (Josef Fischer) is a man that has housed with known terrorists in the same house and violently attacked police-men in street fights in the 70s (even captured on TV) - and the Secretary of the Interior (Otto Schily) was known as legal adviser for people related to those terrorist groups....

Nuno: ditto.

I guess everyone here that is not REALLY mad has not seen those palestinean people dancing in the street because of the death of many thousands of innocent people.

Until now I've always thought the Israelian were doing wrong down there but now I'm not sure anymore. How can you possibly negotiate with such totally f*cked up beings?

Thanks for not starting a flame war Indiana. I was a little brash in my posting, but my intent really was to get people to reflect a little on the full scope of events.

A few people here (and many elsewhere) are saying things like "look at the Palestinians celebrate, I bet they wouldn't celebrate if they had this happen to them." The truth is, the Palestinians are experiencing this. All the time. For years. They are forced into slums and concentration camps. Yes, that's a strong word, but it's a strong situation, and that's a good description. I think it might be more correct to view this terrorist WTC attack as the counter-attack. Trust me, Palestinians know full well what it's like to have civilians killed for no reason. They even know what it's like to have the world condone it when it happens to them.

There are explosions going off in Kabul, Afganistan (?)!!! Early reports indicate that it is some sort of military attack!

Could the Atlantic fleet and Mid-East US posts already be countering? Or is Afganistan trying to capture Bin Laden to take the heat off their shoulders so the US doesn't invade?

Time will tell.

Good question.
I cant see the Taliban trying to capture Bin-Laden, for one they claim to have him in captivity anyway. I guess it depends how much of their rhetoric is really true and how much is sabre rattling.
But the USA would have to make an awful big leap to go from "We had no idea someone was going to do this" to "Its them send in the bombers" inside a few hours, and that doesnt fit either.
Someone on CNN suggested civil war? Maybe one side is trying to topple the Taliban thinking the US is going to back them up?

What happened around here???? Someone deleted posts?

I wish I could be there to offer some help. I´m seing on the news that hospitals are asking for blood. Everybody who can, go there and donate it. Believe me, it´s desperating to have to see someone to die on hypovolemic shock because of the lack of blood on the bank.

Now that the Afganistan news is out, my thoughts on the whole thing. I had just arrived at Win2k training when one of my buddies told me about it. I looked at him funny and thought he was joking. Then he showed me the news flash on his pager... During every break in training we were in front of a TV watching. You may call it sesational journalism, but this was one %#@*$ sensationalist attack.

It's sickening what people will do to each other. So what if Isreal gets aid from the US! Do you really think the Palestinians aren't getting aid from other middle East factions and nations? From billionaire Muslim oil tychoons? Who should the US support? The Isrealis who welcome the help and in turn help us in the middle east? Or the Muslim/Islam/Palastinian nations who threatens us, attacks us, backstabs us and for the most part hates us?

Honestly though, I don't know enough about the middle east to point fingers, and I'm trying not to, but whoever was responsible for this attack is in for a world of hurt! The US is the sleeping giant. We like making money and having fun. We do some 'policing actions' here and there (and I don't agree with everything we do), but mostly we stick to ourselves. But as the Japanese Empire and Third Riech found out in WWII, piss us off and we'll throw everything we got at you! Just read US history...when we need to be, we can be the meanest, nastiest bunch of bastards on the face of this Earth. And now the giant bastard is awake and he's pretty %#@(* pissed off!

For those of the Arabian culture who condemn this attack and had nothing to do with it, I feel sorry for you. There's probably a whole lot hatred coming your way. For those who relish in this act of pure hatred and evil...more of the same is coming your way.

So who exactly did this inhuman act? Last i heard, at least 15 terrorist organisations said they were responsible for it ..... man i couldnt believe it ... i tried for a moment to imagine how the people in the planes felt like, knowing they would die soon ... i just couldnt think about it any longer than a moment ...

But this is exactly what Terrorism is ... they dont declare war, they dont engage in an armed conflict ... they target civilians, just to provoke an action, to spread terror and hatred ... they feed on fear, rage, anger ..... its what those monsters live for ...

Terrorism must be wiped from the face of this Earth ... countries that support Terrorism should be annihilated ... unfortunately, nothing that will be done can bring back the people who died, nothing will help their loved ones feel less pain ...

is the fact that the media has ignored the issues with Iraq in the last few weeks

1. air strikes on SAM sites in no fly zone allegedly killing civilians (according to Baghdad)

2. Iran accused of trying to get Nuclear weopons

5. US/Great Britain strike on Iraqis equipment in no fly zone again

6.Kuwaitis concerned Iraq trying to de-stabalize region

needless to say this stuff wasnt on my local news...=(

LORD knows who was pissed at us enough to do this, or if this IS related to a upcoming holiday/celebration in the arab world.....
