I reckon the best moment of the Olympics has to be Steve Bradbury winning the gold (Australia's first!!! YAY! And we ended up with two!! ). Only an Aussie could get through and win gold in that manner - that is, sitting back waiting for everyone else to stuff it up and hand it to him on a platter!
As far as the figure skating goes, I heard that the French judge was bribed - even heard the figure of $30,000 mentioned on a radio show here in Aus.
I watched their routines and I knew straight away something suss was going on because the Canadian pair were almost flawless (except that little stumble when they'd practically finished their short routine), yet the Russians had at least 3 occasions that the Australian commentators picked up a stumble or unsteadiness in their landings. When the scores came through my fiancee and I both went "no way! The Canadians fully deserve to win!" Didn't really notice that the French judge's score was too much different to the others, although I did notice how the european countries gave better scores to the Russians, while the rest of the countries gave better scores to the Canadians.
