I think we're missing another angle on the whole issue... perhaps she played Carmegeddon, or some other violent video game and became "jaded" towards automotive violence?

as far as I know no one on this thread was in the car, saw what happened personally or knew someone who was a witness.

News stories are written to create the most emotional impact on the reader, that way more newspapers are sold and advertisers are happy.

I read the story and it struck me that it was very professionally written with each heartstring pulled to an effect that would impress even steven speilberg.

once again, do not be in such a rush to judge or one day when you really need a break...the only people listening will be a lynch mob.

She hit the guy, drove home with him in the windshield, HAD SEX WITH HER BOYFRIEND, and talked to the guy while he was dying for <B>2 days</B>, but didn't help him.

This girl had her day. She had 2-3. She left a man to die in her garage. She ditched the body in a park, and then supposedly made plans to torch the car for insurance money.

All, Dancray is just saying that we all may not judge Mrs. Mallard they have juries for this.

Some people here already convicted here to life sentence (or death sentence), "innocent until proven guilty".

What she did is completely amoral and she should be convicted for this if she is found guilty, but let a jury decide if she is guilty and which sentence she deserves.

The presence of people like her, Tim Mcveigh etc. etc. is why there is such support for the death penalty in the U.S.

Even at .01% of the population being sociopaths of this nature that amounts to a lot of excess baggage when you have ~300 million people inside the borders.

I do not expect most here to agree with me; I have noticed a lot of discussion lately as a springboard for anger and this lady and the dead homeless guy is just another example (I believe Ant closed down the last soapbox thread about muslims because it was just a hate discussion thinly diguised)...

I think a lot of frustration exists since 9-11 and people here are looking to vent at anything - but sadly in their rush to judge and execute mistakes are always made.

Man's justice is not perfect and fortunately some countries have realized this and have banned the death penalty. In Canada several people who would have been executed under american laws were found to be innocent due to changes in witness testimony and dna research. Imagine if you were executed because of a rush for vengance. That would suck profoundly.

maybe canadian sensibilities will eventually make their way down south...I believe the british and most europeans have also banned the death penalty for the same reasons...mistakes are made in the rush to judge...police make mistakes, prosecutors make mistakes, people are just not perfect enough to always be right.

we would all benefit by cooling down the vengeance thing and keeping the rhetoric less judgemental.

Here's something you can quote me on. If I ever hit someone driving in my car, and he's dangling oin the hood with his head inside the car, I drive him to my house, and watch him die over X number of days, I would lynch mob me.


She was scared. She ran hom and like an Ostrich stuck her head in the sand. Or her boyfriends pants. It makes no difference. Then she comes out to visit him repeatedly over the course of three days. She's a nurse and probably could have helped as she would have had at the very least first aid training. I understand, she was scared of prosecution. Who wouldn't be.

And you are right that news reports are written as page turners. So lets tone the article down.


She's driving home from a bar, on drugs, drunk, and she hits a man. She's still a nurse in this version of the story. She hit's the guy, and his head is protruding through the front windshield. Rather than stopping and thinking what she's done. She drives home with his body on the hood of his car. He's probably screaming and thrashing but we won't mention that because that will chalk this up as a page turner.

Maybe she drives across an entire city with him on the hood. May be she drove 1 block. Does it matter? There was a man, alive, but dying, on the hood of her vehicle. She parks in the garage and goes in the house. Maybe she had sex, maybe she didn't. It's irrelevant. Because she went in the house and did nothing.

She came back out to the garage. Appologized. They said repeatedly. Maybe not. But if she came out to appologize, it's because she realized what she did. She realized she was a piece of shit and yet still did nothing to save this man. Pick up the phone, get an ambulance there and you might not even be on trial for murder. Maybe just drinking and driving.


Maybe all this took 3 days. Maybe it was 12 hours. The fact is, she and at least 1 friend, ditched the body, was going to burn the evidence, and pretend it never happend. The time period everything took is irrelevant for a trial.


Regardless of how the news reports covered this. Did she not kill someone and drive around with the body on the car like a hunter does a moose or deer after a trophy kill?
