ps...I have noticed that I've been attacked personally by some people here for my opposing viewpoint; I would appreciate if the moderator would keep things civil and remind MURCERS that there are rules of conduct in soapbox discussions. I really believe that communication is critical for meaningful change; cheap personal attacks just make it more difficult to communicate freely.
you guys need some serious christian faith, especially the moderator.
And you don't see this as a cheap personal attack. If you are going to dish it out then you should be ready to expect the same in return.

You should always be able to say the truth and sadly in the past this hasn't been allowed.

Man's justice is not perfect and fortunately some countries have realized this and have banned the death penalty. In Canada several people who would have been executed under american laws were found to be innocent due to changes in witness testimony and dna research. Imagine if you were executed because of a rush for vengance. That would suck profoundly.

True I can remember a bloke going all the way to court over a brutal child rape case. The dna test was forged and the bloke got off when the real offender stood up in court.
The press went mad over this case and preasure on the police to convict was huge. If the press hadn't gone beserk perhaps the police would have got the right person in first place.

However this case does seem very evil after reading the links provided by wombat.
      .
One thing I don't think should happen is when people plead guilty to a crime and stick too that plea all the way through they shouldn't get off on a technicality.

dancray, please do not blatantly lie. You edited that post, and took "christian" out of it after the fact.
I know, because I copied and pasted from your posting when I quoted you in mine.

Please respect our intelligence and honesty. Your integrity is shot now, though.

Then ask Wombat where he got his quote. But either way you did single me out. Not that I really care and I would not have said anything if you hadn't complained about others doing to you what you started doing first.

Well, I know I didn't make it up. If I had, I would have at least had the respect for others to capitalize the C.

I repeat; christian is NOT in the message.

and again to the moderator, please do your job and not take such a personal position in the discussions here; it lacks an unbiased viewpoint and affects your moderation. This is perhaps why your last controversial thread moderated was deleted by the head MURCER Ant; he had to do your job for you. But this just my opinion and please do not become too upset.

I can see that it is "NOT" currently in the message dancray. But you said

christian was not in my message
Erasing it doesn't mean you "never" said it, especially after it had already been read by many, and quoted by at least one. If you regret saying it, fine, retract it; but don't deny ever saying it. You'd rather insult me by accusing me of putting words in your mouth, than admit you misspoke. Go crawl under a rock.

and again to the moderator, please do your job... Ant; he had to do your job for you. But this just my opinion and please do not become too upset.
Well, I think that you're a two-faced, double-speaking zealot, but please do not become too upset. Where do you get off on telling other people what their job is and how to perform it?

Joel, feel free to quote me quoting dancray any day. I would never fake a quote.

                        Several things:

                        1) Even though I am a moderator I am still entitled to my opinion. If you can't deal with that then IMO that is your problem not mine and Ant will let me know if he thinks I have crossed the line.

                        2) Don't tell me how to do my job. I only answer to one person. Plus if you ask the other mods they will probably tell you that this is probably one of the hardest forums to mod because of the possible subject content. The main thing I watch for is direct personal hateful attacks not opposing view points. And just because I don't make a statement in the thread itself doesn't mean that I have done nothing. There is a feature on here that allows personal messages to be sent. I try to deal with things that way first.

                        3) That other thread went sour after I had already warned everyone to keep it civil and while I was at work. Did not find out about it til I got home.

                        4) Me upset?? No. I've dealt with this before.

                        Joel

BTW it looks like we have gotten way off the subject at this point so if you wish to continue this discussion then please go to the Site feedback forum where this really belongs.

It's not that I want to grant dancray's wish, its rather that I think That I might have made an error when starting this thread in the first time........

I don't think it was a mistake Technoid. It's a very interesting story, the kind of thing that still amazes me that sometimes humankind sinks so low. I've looked around for more news, but haven't seen any updates to post here.
