I would be willing to bet you that dancry was one of those few who believed that Timothy McVay (I know it's misspelled), a mass murderer of 167 people many of them children who had done absolutely nothing to him, should not have received the death penalty.

And rugger there is a big difference between you and dancry. You were willing to admit, when proven, that you were wrong whereas dancry feels that as long as someone is willing to debate with him that he must be right.

You definitely gained my respect from that. And the fact you are willing to laugh about it now instead of holding a grudge shows so much more than dancry's threats.

Well, a few comments about this.

My only problem with the death penalty is that you can't take it back if you get it wrong.

As for Timothy, I feel death was too good a punishment for him. But since we cannot inflict constant pain on him, without ourselves becoming the sort of scum timothy was, I guess death will have to do

I was just pointing out to dancry that moderators do not exist to protect people as such, but to protect the quality of the forums. If people get protected by it in any way, it is only a side effect of protecting the forums.

Plus I would rather fight it out on the forum without moderator interference (as long as it stays within legal grounds) and leave the record of my stupidity instead of having it erased and sanitized. Its more fair that way, and besides, I would rather not try to project a perfect image of myself

Gurm, for all your boastful talk and idle threats you are still afraid to provide your full name.

I challenge you to repeat your slander in a courtroom, but you like others talk a lot and then shrink way from the courthouse. You also hide instead of fighting a $25 parking ticket, ...your honor is not even worth $25.

By the way, the stoves we use are electric element based and on low you can keep my hand on it for about 45 secs. Not everyone uses an open pit flame to heat things. But I guess you did not consider that in your slander. Have you ever encountered and electric stove, I believe they are quite common in many places.


And Joel, would you please stop fixating on politicizing and compartmentalizing everyone who disagrees with you as a left wing or right wing. I know it is simpler to see the world in black and white, but really that is as out of date and inaccurate as busing and white only toilets.

I have voted Tory for 34 years. Joel, you know nothing worth repeating and if you did, you would be published somewhere with a book deal/TV deal. A website is responsible for the messages it posts, the court ruled in the link I provided. Complict of slander since they did not delete the violating message. Civil law, I took it along time ago...it is a complex and powerful tool.

And yes, Ant (I mention him because ultimately he is responsible for this site for good or bad, besides I did email him and he has an opportunity to respond - this is not personal) and Joel should take a look at the ruling, slander is a serious issue. They may be forced to provide personal info about Gurm regardless of how much Gurm hides.
