I just read that closed thread and I didn´t see anything that wrong about it. Gurm maybe got a bit carried away, but let´s face it, that mini was using the same level of insults I remember from the 6th grade. If he didn´t like what Gurm posted he wasn´t obligated to reply, much less to insult him.

Maybe rage3d, madonion or the sharktank would be more apropriate for him.

So, Gurm, if you´re reading this lines (you are) I think MURCer´s here on this thread are standing by you, in case you haven´t noticed it already.

Yes, the mini was insulting, and Gurm wasn't at first. But "Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience" - Gurm let himself be dragged.

I found Gurm's comments on the topic funny, but what happened later on in the thread wasn't very funny anymore.

It's nice you apologized, Gurm (although you did it in a very "Gurmy" way ), and it was neccessary too, I think.

That mini of course should apologize, too, at least.

The decision to close that thread was mine. It got beyond just being funny. I said something to Gurm only because he should have known better, but I think the other side has been taken care of already. So let's not head down the same road with this one.

Thanks Gurm for the apology. Sometimes it takes being a big man to admit when you're wrong.

In case you meant me, Joel, I apologize, too

I didn't mean to start anything, I just wanted to add my thoughts, and thank Gurm for apologizing

Agent31, Settle down there lad, I'm from that incredably popular and everyone knows of it the 'city of Adelaide'

Now to explaine where that is look at a map of Australia - Middle(eastish) South. See that small splodge if you look with a magnifying glass you will see the name 'Adelaide'

                    No no. Ok, some thoughts:

                    UK, Australia, UK
This was one of those posts where someone says something about some pop-or-sports-culture person that 90% of us have NO idea who they are. Not an indictment of Australia (a country which, although I find it rather perplexing, is very nice).

                    The Ugly Thread:

The reason it was locked was that it was getting out of hand, which was evidenced by my very next post (in another thread, which Joel also deleted - as well he should have). Although I won't repost it in its entirety here, it contained some excellent one-liners, if I do say so myself. Such as:

"Listen up, you lipstick-wearing felch monkey!"

                    and

"I know you're a bit confused about your ambiguous sexuality, but don't you think a men's restroom is a somewhat dubious place to pick up sexual partners?"

(Actually that last one was a paraphrase. Heh.)

As for the mini, I dunno who he is. Greebe knows, thinks it's funny, and won't tell. Which is why Greebe is now on my ignore list. I don't like being mocked publicly (who does?) but I like it even less when a supposed "friend" is PM'ing me going "heh, if you knew who that was you'd be nicer, he's playing you real good".

Thanks for the acceptance of the apology everyone. I know it was rather "Gurmish", but it's the best y'all get at the moment.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled grumpiness.

I apologize to everyone as well, especially to you Gurm. I guess that we can chalk it up to battle fatigue and 48hrs of R&R seems to have suppressed the juvenile emotions. I will attempt to keep my negative emotions in check should there arrive another occasion where a battle is eminent.

Permit me to snigger (not snicker, over here thats a bar of chocolate with peanut and nougat. Quite nice actually), point the finger at people from the North American subcontinent and shout "Ha ha! Now you know how we feel!"

I've been on countless forums where posters will start a thread entitled "Yay! The Witchita Junior Bungholers are 9 for 18 and look good for the fifth quarter!" about some sport (usually the World League of) that no-one outside America knows much about except it possibly involves lots of big men with muscles jumping up and down on each other making grunting noises.

At least I posted a link for Rainbow so others would know

MURC is actually pretty good in respect of the number of people who dont start threads about country/culture specific things.
