Back on topic again. Iraq doesn't need another war but a revolution. The iraques themself must get rid of Saddam.

Problem: What if they don't ?

        Historical reminders:

        Iran
        Afganistan
        .
        .
        .

I'm not including Germany cause they still retained much more freedom.

          Alice said: (fixed source)
Huh, don´t want to interrupt anything here, since this sounds like a perfectly healthy debate. About the Second World War, as far as I remember, the conflict started like a little "mal entendue" between France and Germany, which was started because Hitler wanted to eliminate the frontiers that the treaty of Versailles imposed, which, obviously, was a problem considering his plans for
          taking the world.
yes the treaty was a sore spot for Germany, THAT is why when France surrendered, they used the same trolly car for the French to surrender formally in as a slap in the face. The treaty was broken LONG before that as Germany starting building up arms/troops in preparation for war.

But the issues/reasons for the war according to the NAZIs was needing "elbow room" and to allow thier german speaking neighbors to join the country of Germany.

          thus ends the history lesson
Better to let one think you are a fool, than speak and prove it

...no, no, no, that wasn't the story of a Palestinian, it was the story of an "American" indian..

..no, it was a Tibetan, the mother-in-law was Chinese...

...that's not right, it was an Australian Aborigine, the mother-in-law was a Brit prisoner...

...what am I saying, it was an Amazon indian and the old bat was Spanish...

...can't get anything straight, it was a Balian and the bitch was Dutch...

...shit! he was from a Cape tribe and she was a Boer...

... ah! I don't care and neither does anybody else...
How can you possibly take anything seriously?

The Kaisers had bankrupted Germany which gave Hitler the opportunity step in and say "I'll give you bread and room to live!" When you are starving you will take anything. Lenin did the same thing and Stalin refined it.

Saddam Hussain does it differently. He starves the people and promises them the return of glory.

Some Muslim countries don't bother with bread but a direct trip to paradise where they get milk and honey.

              America offers Mac Donalds...

              Get your realities right...

                    This is all academic.

The President will be going to the UN in a few days to lay down the gauntlet. Congress will then pass, by a huge margin, authorization to him to attack.

Reports are coming out now that we have already prepositioned an expeditionary force of over 100,000 troops with more on the way. We've also leased several huge cargo ships to ferry additional tanks, personnel carriers and other armor to the staging areas.

In addition to this the factories that make cruise missiles, JDAM's (satellite guided munitions) and other smart weapons have been running 3 shifts for several months. There are also rumors that the attack version of the Predator unmanned spy plane and the Dark Star may be involved.

Also: several types of un-manned fighter/bomber have been in development since the mid 1990's. These were supposed to be ready for 2005, but you never know.....

My guess: once the President decides to go an air campaign will start that'll make the Gulf War look like a target practice. A week or so after that troops will move in from at least 3 directions.

We have more friends in the region (and Saddam has more enemies) than news reports would indicate.....
