You are about the most clueless soul I have ever had the oportunity to read such complete crap from.

Half of what I said you twisted into a sickening wickedness and read into what was most indeed not stated.

I refuse to be dragged into your diseased overview.

    End of discussion.

Nice work. If you can't attack the position, insult the opposition? Gee, thanks.

Greebe, It wasnt meant to be in any way personal - there was no attack on you, your family nor your country.

Though, I take it that your comments were personal.

I wont take offense at them - it takes Gurm to do that

I know that you dont agree with my comments - fair enough - in fact I dont give a damn

I still think that there is no benefit in going to war with Iraq -

Would you at least tell me where I was materially wrong in either of my posts?

Wombat - thanks for your input - I think that the vitrol was directed at me though.

i wish i could believe that.. but the Lebanese people have become tainted and petty... they have become sheep that follow people they call leaders but whom really are war criminals or a new sort of criminals ... even our religious men have become like that....

to stay or not to stay... that is the question.... my wife and i are waiting for the Canadian embassy to answer our request for immigration... it has been 10 agonizing month.... but we are still adamant.....

unfortunately i see the way Lebanon is turning far clearer than the general populace because i have studied its history... Lebanon has never shed its feudal system... and now it seems inevitable that a new civil war will erupt soon regardless off all the events happening around us.... but i am afraid that these events will only speed things up..... my friends and i (mostly collage students) have formed an alliance of several people from all over Lebanon and we have set out the objective to try and calm the situation amongst our selves (ala pay it forward) but we are small in numbers and we are dwindling because people only care about them selves and no one else... our greatest problems here in Lebanon are not political or fanaticism or terrorism or the lack of sovereignty.. these are secondary to the two major issues... bad education and no sense of nationalism... well make it three... no sense of professional ethics.

Perhaps I'm wrong but didn't Hitler declare War on America anyway?

If Hitler wasn't mad he'd invaded Britain before turning his attention to Stalin. He wouldn't have been able ignore Stalin anyway becuase Stalin wouldn't have ignored him.

Anyway one thing America has got to be careful off and thats not inadvertantly making one of Binnie boy's aims come true. That was hitting America so hard that they would act on there own and unite the Arab world against them.
More worrying other countries like Pakistan have the bomb and are not very stable. They also harbour a lot of terrorists groups and are possibly hiding dustbin liner as well if he's not dead.

there is nothing wrong with the Arab world uniting... as long as it is for peace... it would actually stabilize the situation in the middle east ...... but as the old saying goes... divide and conquer...

too many different ideas/religious ideals/ways of life to get any major agreement for a "United Arab State" tho the dream of some keeps the few trying for peace/unity

First off you claimed it wasn't anything personal against me... but regardless of what spin you put on it you did indeed twist what I said and added you personal thoughts to it... I take that very personal.

Secondly you can spend the next year looking up historical facts, but in the end you'll have no better idea about the idosyncrasies involved than you do now.

Sorry, greebe, I just re read your post. Even a 17 year old A level history student would understand the auseative effects of WWII. Of course there was Appeasement.... But it was already too late - by a long shot - to stamp on Hitler.

Isolationism is not meant to be insulting... It is what China and the US were... It is a widely accepted history term.

                            What do you mean?

My only major comment was that war is bad - irrespective of where its fought

I said that Joels throwaway comment was wrong - the quote above lists why...

I said that I have seen dead people - I have - literally blown to peices no bigger than a cigarette pack.

There are lots of people who feel that Iraq poses no threat... the majority of the people of the UK, I am sure.

Why did you go down my throat?

Plus too the fact that there was no official declaration of war does not mean that we were not involved in a bigger way than Redred would like us all to believe. An actual declaration of war is just a formality.

There are just some who like to try to blame the US for all their troubles and problems because it is easier than looking into the mirror and seeing the real cause.

226 years ago 53 men risk everything including their very lives to see to it that I was able to live as a free thinking individual and I am damn proud of that. And if there is anyone who does not agree with that then that is their problem not mine. If I have to be condemn for something I would much rather be condemn for believing that all people should have a freedom of choice than as a murderous dictatoral thug who's ultimate goal is to control the whole world. IMO the main reason for the attacks on the US and trying to turn the rest of the world againist us is the idea that with the US out of the way then the rest of the world will just be a cake walk. And with the way the rest of the world is acting that is probably not far from the truth.
