Yeah...and someone has to ensure that future generations get such a world.....

...be it the moon...or Mars...or someplace else.....

...and I feel it our obligation to make it so...

People have traditionally come to the US to escape political, religious, and economic freedom. If colonists leave Earth for another world, it will be to escape those things that make life here intolerable i.e. pollution, overpopulation, terrorism, loss of privacy, etc.

Most of us in the US, in fact in the entire western world, can't imagine what could make people abandon all they've known to plunge into the unknown the way our ancestors did. Truth is, even America's original immigrants came here to escape SOMETHING, to seek a better life, fresh hunting grounds, SOMETHING. It's a biological imperative we've been trying to ignor, and maybe that's one reason for all the strife we've been suffering over the last few decades.

Absent those two factors, sure I'd go. In a heartbeat.

        You are oversimplifieing.....

mayby 10% of the have that problem and 15% can be fixed by medications, 25% has big problems but not fatal, 25% are only anoyed and tle last 25% is only anoyed by the local version of giant mosquito

Let us not assume that colonization will be easy....for it will take many generations of toil to make anything habitable...

....the sooner we start the sooner it is ready....

Jeez...Can you tell I haven't been sleeping nights?

            Read "freedom" as "oppression."

Only took me 14 hours to notice. I'm doing better than normal.
