Some funky looking buildings here...better then the first time around though
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Defindly better than the first time around

    When will they decide?

I'm not sure I like any of them,
but at least they don't all look like Picka City USA.

Personally I think they should build something as big and ostentatious as the towers were....maybe even more so.

Call it a nice, big "F*** YOU!!".

It should be beautyful.... The last ones were amazing, but bland from an artistic perspective....

I still think this is the best design.

                  Now, that is an offence

Why not build one monstrous tower, like the one they want to make in Hong Kong ?

I'm with Joel, but make that a 200 story middle finger.

Not only is it appropriate but it's very much in character with New York City

Feck, I don't have links or pics and maybe they didn't even got through with it
Anyway, saw a documentary on Discovery where the wanted to make a big city like tower (as I remember they started the construction already). Was supposed to be round and thined as it got to the top, sort of an elongated cone.
They wanted it to be a city of its own, with offices, apartments, fitness clubs, restaurants, schools...

edit: I'm not sure but it might be called the Babylon tower...

I seem to remember some monstrosity of a building from Akira which was about as tall as the twin towers but was solid building about the size of the whole WTC site. It had a highway going through it..

From these designs, the worst by far is Meier's. What an eyesore! Two tic-tac-toe boards set upright next to each other... blech! The rest are all pretty much horseshit too, except for one.. I really like the Peterson/Littenberg proposal. The towers are taller than the old ones, but slimmer at the top (certainly smaller targets ). They look like buildings too, not some idiot's half-baked attempt at a gargantuan piece of modern art. And the memorial and surrounding spaces are an amphitheater and multilevel connecting gardens.. it's a beautiful design, and I hope they pick that one.

Looks like a lot of people agree with me..

Hope this bodes well for the design.. I am very picky about architecture and I'm sure most others will be too, about this site in particular.
