I think it's legit Gurm. Besides, TX does a lot of online services at www.txonline.com (it's not a .gov) that we have to support (such as renewing licenses, taxes, etc).

Yes, that's a real Kansas site. Yes, they have drug tax stamps.

Dealers caught w/ drugs w/o stamps are:
1) Gotten on tax evasion
2) Required to pay DOUBLE damages for not paying the tax.

You buy stamps... to put on illegal drugs.

You have to give your name and address in order to buy the stamps.

Let me draw a parallel.

I am the state of West Virginia. I have declared that raping 5 year olds is illegal. BUT, I'm going to sell "kiddy ****" stamps. If you're caught raping a 5-year-old, and that 5-year-old does NOT have a "kiddy ****" stamp on his or her forehead, you will be liable for TAX EVASION.

You can claim up and down that it's real and legal. You can publish stories about it. But it ain't legal, by any stretch, whether Kansas (not the last bastion of intelligence and integrity in the country - sorry Jamm) wants it to be or not.

If you buy them in person you don't need to provide any ID, and the office is prohibited from sharing the fact that you purchased any. If I had money pouring out my ears I'd go buy some of those stamps just to see if a unmarked black car tails me when I drive home.

It's neither entrapment nor illegal. Jon can read, so you see how entrapment is avoided. It's not just Kansas either, it's about 1/5 of the states.

They got Capone on tax evasion by raiding his bank accounts - not by putting a "stamp tax" on an illegal activity.

I honestly don't think they've EVER prosecuted someone for this. I could be wrong, I know. But it would shock and utterly amaze me if they had ACTUALLY successfully prosecuted someone.

Remember, oral sex is illegal in 40 out of the 50 states. Sodomy (between ANY two individuals) is illegal in all 50. In most of the states on the east coast, it is technically illegal for two people to sleep in the same bed at a hotel or motel, married or not. (Hence the reason for two double beds in most rooms).

Lots of things are "illegal" and "prosecutable" or "taxable". But I would REALLY love to see a case and docket number for someone that has ACTUALLY been PROSECUTED under this law. They claim to have made millions of dollars. I'd like to see the books, because it's nuts. You can't tax an illegal activity. Not in the USA.

This has to do with contract law versus criminal law. Having/selling drugs is a criminal act. Tax is a contract. Never shall the two meet.
